ok i want to make a new char after making my cleric(i have a personal buffer yay) so i was reading here in the forums and compendium and saw the crossbow knight..made me think hey this is not a bad idea, a long range class with a shield and aoe but the problem is im kinda noob with crossbow coz i never saw 1 using it..so could you feed me up with some info?

should i get double attack(triple atack at 9)
stat ratio?str-con or should i go with something else
will i be avoided in parties?like in evil jacks because i have no summons?;'(
will my ap be good?
any1 can gve me the skills to get

tnx all
sorry for my bad english

edit:
omg i just read that xbow are not 1 handed weapons?i mean 1 handed skills and passives wnt work if im using a xbow and not mace/sword?

Will you be avoided in parties? If you are avoided, you don't want to be in that party because its a bad party that doesn't know whats good for them.
Will your AP be good? No.

You have to get double/triple attack for soul wreck.
http://forums.warppo...rossbow-knight/ <--- click for skills
http://forums.warppo...mace-pvp-build/ <--- click for stats

I realize the thread in the 2nd link is labeled for maces. But I assure you that both weapon types can use the same stats.

Crossbows are 1 handed weapons. The passives you are talking about are probably the item mall passives. Your actual class passives will work fine. But if you want to buy item mall passives for attack power and attack speed, you have to buy the passives for bows and not the passives for 1 handed weapons.

about the skills, im not talking about the IM skills i was actually talking about skills in the skill tree, so one-handed mastery and adv. one handed mastery will gve me additional ap?

If it gives additional AP for crossbows, it will say "crossbow AP xx%" (or something along those lines). Read the skills descriptions and it should be clear enough. Now for accuracy or other stats, it won't specify a weapon in the description. That means those bonuses will apply to you if you learn the skill regardless of what weapon you use. Only AP and attack speed have specific weapon requirements for passives.

ok sorry for annoying you but for the last time let me clear things up..passive skills that will add ap on me should have the line add xbow atack xxxxxxx so the skill one handed mastert under the one hand skill tree wont gve me additional ap because it doesnt say add xbow ap blah blah blah(thats accd to the compendium http://rose.kuro-tej...j=1&sb1=2&sb2=2) sorry the xbow thing is new to me and makes me confuse XD

We still get 120% total bonus AP from passives. Its not a big deal.

If you are solo, go sword or mace. You won't get any AP passives till level 100, so your AP will be very low with crossbow until then. If you will always have a party, then you can use crossbow and lure for the party. Your damage won't matter in a party.

If you go sword or mace till 100, don't learn fatal thrust or anything else that you cannot use with a crossbow. Or then you will be forced to buy a reset later on.

yeah plan on avoiding fatal thrust..
can you check on my skill build?i know its my char and i should avoid asking/copying builds from other char...i just want to avoid buying a res book
*i like saving skill points while im on my 1st class so i can pump those needed skills when i reach 100 and change my job
soldier:
weapon mastery-9
double/triple attack-9
one handed mastery-9
defensive training-9
shield mastery-9
total 45
should i get this at early levels?:
soul wreck
shield stun
repose and other hp passive skills

knight:
priority when i reach 100:
xbow mastery-9
adv. one handed mastery-9
heavy bow shot-9
adv. defensive training-9
total of 36
and other xbow skills :>

tnx again guys

If you solo, you can go ahead and learn soul wreck before level 100. If you are constantly in parties, you will mostly be luring so you probably won't be using soul wreck that much. Don't learn double attack unless you plan on learning soul wreck.
Shield stun and HP passives can be learned much much later (after learning all the other passives and attack skills).

Rest of the skills sound fine. Don't forget advanced shield mastery. Also, if you are in a lot of parties, you should get at least 1 skill point into taunt shot as soon as possible. There is little point to maxing the skill, but it is a must have skill. So level 1 is enough. Taunting enemies away from your party is quite important.

You don't need taunt. Taunt does become an aoe at level 3, but for combat purposes taunt shot is much more convenient. Taunt shot castes faster and has longer range. Also, taunt does not work in PvP, it only works on monsters. So if you want to PvP well, it would be a waste of skill points.

You should only get it if you are a crossbow knight that will farm in parties a lot. In the situation the aoe aspect of it is nice to have when trying to keep your party-mates safe from monsters.

tl;dr: For crossbow knights: Taunt = PvM, Taunt Shot = PvP.
