I'm not much excited, I think this is another wow-clon but I want to try it too
IT IS a WoW clone. I think I should avoid this thread before I anger the RO2 fangirls/boys here.

Like all Gravity games, they are released to localization companies. There are currently 2 english versions on the slate. RO2 SEA and iRO2. The SEA version is in its beta cycle, but its also in South East Asia.Wait is there two ragnarok 2's? coming out?
I don't think RO2 is a WoW clone. It would be good then. I think it might be interesting so I want to give it a try.

Imagine RO's lag and latency problems, multiply that by about 5, and then add a 3d skin. There's RO2.

it looks... hmm... erm... like a cutesy WoW... but a bit more forced in some ways... boss battles at the end of quests would be nice but in iro not so much into RO2... if they cant fix the game we have now i dont see good things happening to RO2...
i agree with face on this, if they can't get ro1 right, why waste time with a sequel ....

By World of Warcraft you mean "3D MMORPG", which Ragnarok 2 is. It's a very generic 3D MMORPG. Which is a good choice for Gravity, because when you're generic, you make less people angry and you get more cash.
WoW hardly was unique at the time - it just became most known because it was comfortably easy to play with huge amount of rewards and suited the western ideals. If anything, WoW has lent a lot of things from asian 3D mmorpg's (ie. Lineage 2), which is more likely where RO2 is lenting it's UI, monster design, battle-system etc. from. In fact, I don't think RO2 has much-to-anything-similar with whatever makes WoW unique.
Instead, I'm pretty sure RO2 is a more like a grinding exp fest, which makes it very unlike WoW.

Or maybe I hope so. So they'll cancel it again and start investing more in RO. Lol, not happening

Just imagine that Lagg...
RO2 has a modern gaming engine unlike RO1 that was made in the late 1990s. I'm expecting it to be a HUGE upgrade compared to the WoE scene in RO1 and with prettier graphics also. I'm glad its going 3D and hopefully will attract tons of new players who are all about graphics even. The community does need to grow... or else!

Dear Asgardians,
We are happy to announce that OBT will start tomorrow, 3rd January 2013, at 1300 HRS (+8 GMT)! That is less than 19 hours from now!
However, it's with our deepest apologies that we announce we will not be able to provide the RO2 game service to players outside of our optimised countries - Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam - due to our licence agreement with the game's developer, Gravity Co., Ltd.
These aforementioned licence terms will take full effect from the start of OBT tomorrow and we deeply apologise for any inconvenience caused to players. We are extremely grateful for the support you have shown RO2 so far and we thank you again for being a part of this journey. Thank you all!
