Element cards are socket cards for the 2nd socket of a weapon or armor. It goes into two types, resists and attack.
Resists supposedly reduces damage taken from elements however atm it's not working. It does give some floating orbs around your character though. It can be socketed into the 2nd socket of any armor capable of having sockets created.
Attack adds a flat amount of damage to your attacks. For instance if you have 500 Fire attack, it adds 500 extra damage to your attacks. In PvE it's not necessary however in PvP it's quite deadly as this flat bonus damage ignores defenses and Physical Damage Drop. It can be socketed into gloves, boots, and weapons's 2nd socket.
Any element is good to have on any class. Priests using frequent X-spamming with Diffusion Cannon and Double Shot it will help greatly in PvP with elemental attack. Resistances don't work at the moment so it's not necessary to have except for the floating orbs as a cosmetic thing.
