Additional Functions for Pets

When I was playing RO, my younger brother stopped by, saw my pet, and asked:

Brother: "What's that" (points at my pet Shinobi)
Me: "He's my pet"
Brother: "What's it doing" (staring at pet doing nothing but follow)
Me: "He gives me additional stats"
Brother: "And that's all?"
Me: "Yeah that's all"

From this scene I thought that there should be more functions to pets than just additional stats. Giving you little additional storage (like a cart), or picking up drops from monsters you killed (no looting, can be enabled/disabled) are some examples.

i always thought mounts should give a bonus skill that can only be used while mounted...nothing op but something that can kill low level monsters... ie llama allowing you to use level 2 jupital thunder, toads using fire ball 3, ect... since skills and attacks cant be used while mounted (spell scrolls used to be allowed while mounted but i dont know if that changed)... im some of the pets do extra things besides stat boosts... if the stat boosts increased with loyalty or that a special effect happened at maxed loyalty it might be interesting

Something I had thought of was that pets should be able to participate in the fight in some way, even if it's just dealing minimal amounts of damage. This way they would not only be giving you the minor stats, they'd at least give you some small hit bonus. On top of that, a number of them would look adorable helping you attack monsters, and you could even add a talk script for them attacking which would be fun (as long as they don't go crazy talking up a storm which would get annoying).

I thought of that too. But unlike homonculi, pets can't be attacked, so it would be unfair if they could attack and not be attacked back. Just use hide and let them do the killing. Making them attack-able would make homonculi less special too.

I thought about this too, that's why I was thinking you could just make it so the pet only does like 1 dmg. You could technically afk with it, but you'd still have to feed it, wouldn't be worth it at all. It would just be a nice little extra bonus.

I agree to this! even if they deal 1 damage per hit it would be lovely.
Also... this ones need to STFU!

Possibly adding in the feature to expand the loyalty system for pets to be able to convert that in to EXP. That could be a big interest for social and super casual gamers.

A battle system for pets... sounds like a game when you catch monsters and keep them in your pockets ... but would be very interesting to explore in terms of a new game mode for iRO.

I would be happy if they just made them less of a chore to maintain. They lose intimacy way too easily, and in turn they offer little to no benefit, except maybe looking cute.

The fact that they lose so many points when you die turns many people off ever having one outside of it's egg.

I remember the days where pets didn't even give additional stats.. And people still had them and level them up to shiny! xD But I wouldn't mind more features added to them.

Am I the only one who actually hates the fact that they talk? ._. I'd prefer them to just emote every now and then (like they currently do) or have an option to make them stop talking.

It's hard enough to find a reason to take them out of the egg, having it spam my chat every 3 minutes doesn't help. xD

I use my Zealotus in WoE as well as the other warlock on guild and it is quite funny to have them tagging along.
