During this maintenance, we will also be restricting the use of the following on WoE maps:
-Mercenaries
-Pets
-Costume gear
We are continuing to work on identifying and fixing possible causes of server slowdown, non WoE maps should still be accessible during this time.

Hopefully this fixes lag.

So do costumes. (My cake hat for more gfist damage) D:Homunculi have a legitimate use on WoE maps so far, but we're basically trying to try removing variables from the WoE equation that may be causing undue load.

Hopefully the other stuff you're doing helps the servers process the loads of extra actions.
What is different about this server and valk? Or what about the difference between WoE 1.0 and 2.0? Is there a difference server wise? Last 1.0, we had ~5guilds in one castle, and I didn't get action delay. I did lag a few times, but that was on my end (/effect helped + school internet isn't too great). The same 5 guilds were in Valf2, and I lagged to hell. Used hardly any potions, couldn't even use Seeds. Could be that there are less people, but if there is a difference server-wise, swap them and lets see what happens.

and ofc it's better if you can let us use costume headgears
but anyway, the most thing we want is to reduce the lag in woe
Thank you, Oda

That or my brain just doesn't function properly yet. Way too early to sober up atm.

You know... you could probably reduce half the lag if people stop autopotting. just saying.

Although I really hope you guys don't restrict the use of costumes during WoE... aside from aesthetics one of their best uses is to conceal headgear.

I see some people with Zealotus and Alice pets sometimes 0:Does anyone actually use pets in WoE? They wouldn't lose so much intimacy. xD

I think I would be too afraid of losing the pet... I wanted to go in with my white lady a few times but always decided against it. xDI see some people with Zealotus and Alice pets sometimes 0:
But I guess if the bonuses are good enough?

Uhm, pets give stats too. Like a whisper pet lets me hide? don't say that isn't good.

man, actually i just wanna ask them why do those stuff matter in woe forts hehe

Whisper pet is the only one i've seen in WoE - and the most useful too. I'm not sure how much of a difference removing the half dozen pets that get used in WoE (as in, half dozen people probably across whole server using pet in WoE) is going to make, but by all means try it. The lag must be stopped.Uhm, pets give stats too. Like a whisper pet lets me hide? don't say that isn't good.

The animations are not handled server side.Probably the animated costume headgears like the Wickebine's Cat Ears and the Weather Report Hat are adding onto the animations being loaded into a server. Weather Report Hats look pretty stupid in most cases during WoE, so you don't see many of those. The Wickebine Cat Ears though..........
They're removing things like this as a troubleshooting aid - to see if removing these improves performance.
I'll miss my blue xmas cheer though :-( That was my trademark. Now i'll look just like any other RK... and take people by surprise! /an
Yeah, srsly, it's way too early to get drunk, let alone sober up.Way too early to sober up atm.

I wonder what factor the costume headgears play in all this then if that's the case.
Smaller payload to the client. Less data to process for the server.
