It's disabled for a reason. You're preaching to people who have been around for a long time and see the abuse that can be done.
Snap doesn't ignore terrain.
Trust me, you're not the only one that has been around for a long time. I understood why it was removed and not allowed in Pre-Renewal, but with Renewal, it just doesn't make any sense to me. A frickin Shadow Leaping K/O in WoE is going to be so far down on anyone's list of worries it's absurd to me that anyone would care. In the worst case scenario, you'd have a 150/50 recaller K/O somehow magically shadow leap over barricades (if they're being defended properly, it's not happening, period), then make it to an emp room with Cicada and Mirror Image up (total of 5 attacks blocked not including magic), and then get off a recall. Who knows though, maybe K/O would magically become the new "perfect" guild recaller (which I highly doubt). If you're talking about using some exploit or bug in order to recall using Shadow Leap, I think it should be fairly easy to report and get the person banned.
Also, while you are right that snap doesn't ignore terrain, IT DOESN'T REQUIRE THAT THE SURA HIDE FIRST, NOR DOES IT HAVE A COOL DOWN! A good Sura can snap faster than a player can run using speed pots. A good ninja might be able to shadow leap about as fast as an agi upped character, but guess what, unlike a Sura, chances are if the K/O runs into just about any class, it isn't going to be able to do jack squat and would just get killed.
As I said before, any castle that is being properly defended should have absolutely no problem shutting down any K/O that tried to shadow leap past a precast (heck just frickin CC them). About the only chance a K/O would have is to shadow leap through an empty castle.
Also, as a final note, I feel like I'm preaching to a bunch of people who have never played a ninja class for any significant period of time other than in PvM. Anyone who has ever attempted to play a Ninja in any kind of PvP environment knows just how useless Shadow Leap is against people who know how to counter it (sight, ruwach, ignorance, CC, earth strain, earth drive, phantom menace, crystalize, etc). To claim that Shadow Leap would be overpowered and potentially game breaking while saying that there's nothing wrong with Snap is about as ignorant as you can be. Seriously, let alone a snapping sura, I'd even be more worried about a linked SC stealthing into the castle than I would be about a K/O shadow leaping. >_>

It would 100% have to be disabled in woe2. In woe1 it might be okay? it'd be pretty obnoxious though.

You won't be defending your barricades if you have guardian stones up and those ledges are snipable. You shouldn't be able to get behind the impenetrable barricade at all with stones up.

I'd be fine with that proposal. The main problem I have with Shadow Leap being disabled is that a number of other ninja (and probably K/O) skills rely on the Shadow Leap mechanic, and when Shadow Leap is disabled, so are all of the other skills that rely on Shadow Leap. Truth be told, I could care less about Shadow Leap. I care more about the class being able to use its skills, instead of being gimped because it might be harder to defend the castle.
