I'm trying to decide on which katar to spend my badges on and don't want to regret my choice in the long run. I have mostly been a very critical PVM build but now that I'm level 140+, I am considering doing WOE/PVP. I do think it depends on the player and how certain people play their class so I thought maybe I can get some advice here.

I would consider using a critical build in WOE, but from what I've read, it's not as effective as using skills so this would make me more inclined to choose the bloody roar. However, how are GXes in WOE as a killing class? The way I'm looking at it, if they aren't effective as killers, then really I should be heavily relying on using various poisons on people as a disabler/hinderance, and therefore auto-attacking people - this would make me more inclined to choose the jamadhar.

I do like PVM and will eventually try my luck with some MVPing, but I know the difference in bonuses only applies to demi-human so I am not considering it a factor in that aspect. It's just that I do want to try WOE but do not have a guild or anyone to give me some sound advice on the different roles of a GX.

Thanks in advance :thx:

MVP wise Jamadhar is very specialized to crit kill demi-human mvps. vs non demi-human mvps both jamadhar and bloody roar does same damage. So if you plan to both woe and mvp i'd recommend getting the bloody roar, it shines more against high defense target than jam the 20% crit increase isn't gonna help you alot because it would be easier to just spam burst damage skills like cross impact or aoe with rolling cutter. Also don't be afraid to use a crit build with 1 dex in woe. It will still do well as long as you have rolling cutter and cross impact you will still be able to hit everyone with your skills without problem.

So regardless of if I'm a crit build or not, if I ever have any plans of doing PVP/WOE, you guys would recommend bloody roar? I do really enjoy doing critical damage but if it's garbage in WOE, then I may lean more toward the bloody roar. Reading in other threads, it sounds like the only people who die to critical GXes in WOE are people with low HP (due to having an easier time out-potting the damage output with a higher HP pool) while leaving the GX vulnerable from wasting time attacking someone in one single spot.

Also, kiefer, does having only 1 dex fare well in WOE using skills? I by no means am disregarding RC/CI, but they won't miss too often against targets with high flee? I'm not very familiar with everything in WOE so I'm trying to learn.

You will need at least 70~90 Dex for Cross Impact/Rolling Cutter to actually hit Rangers, Guillotine Crosses, and Shadow Chasers.

crit no longer bypasses DEF in renewal but adds a flat +150% damage. bloody roar will be much more versatile.

I did buy Jamadhar, because my teacher is an old school critter. He played Sin class since the server came up. And now he quitted, I regretted it at some point, but i want to keep living as critter GX. I traded all my reduction for attack, more damage and 190 Base aspd. Call me old fashioned, but this way i enjoy more, and i believe i can lay down some serious crit damage.

As critter, you need to bring converters, various poisons in order to kill, various type of weapon.

Its true that GBR GXes type can do more damage with RC, CRS and CI. But as critter. You can crit lock some1, switching weapon while at it. (Drill Katar will do the trick)

And yeah just like how you get *CRIT* you need LUK. And real Luck, whether the enemy using the opposing element of your converter, whether the enemy has FCP or not. Whether the enemy has mayaP or not. Whether the enemy is using pest card or not. Its really conditional, but when you are at the right place, and the right time. You can not only `Roll` you can also Rock !

In any case you want to be a critter PvP or WoE, you can ask me if you need something.

In game name is Z.inc
you can meet me at west prontera.

You can try to get both. Eventually you will end up using the bloody roar more than the jama in woe. Note that the 25% crit damage from jama applies to all races and not just demi (working as intended?) so you will find jamadhar being more versatile in mvp/pvm. Both katars have their uses so just pick 1 or for the sake of collection get both!

Oh, I did not realize the jamadhar's critical damage applies to all monsters...I don't think I'll be getting both though since it takes me forever to collect the KVM badges (I may end up saving for a weapon for a different job class after I decide on what katar to get). Leveing is decent enough using my aunoe carded durga, so I'm not making a decision based so much on PVM factors, although it would be nice to replace it for my last few levels (and maybe do some MVPing).

There is 0 situations where i'd rather have the jamadar over the bloody roar. Crits only make you do 1.4x damage and crits short of mvping are completely useless in pvm so it might as well be the same atk. You can mvp perfectly acceptably with the bloody roar too. If you're critting people on a gx in woe you are just killing people that will die instantly to DB or some crummy magic instantly anyway.
