another 'QQ the rogue spend half a million zeny trying to kill me' thread

 

try actually playing as a shadow chaser leveling to 150 and then dealing with a plethora of broken spells and lack of damage spells, then get back to us. the failure rate on Rapid Throw is enough of a 'nerf' as the spell needs. pretty much only the super rich are using it regularly anyways. give SC's a viable alternative attack then well talk

there IS a nerf/fix coming for RT on SCs... they wont be able to deal full damage anymore since they cant learn dagger throwing 10

one could argue that the output damage of Guillotine fist and Gates of hell is way too much. These spells shouldnt even be usable in pvp. suras should be forced to play their classes the way they were intended: chaining combos and using appropriate freezes/roots. instead they just get an iwin button. then they get to go out in pvm and tank mvps with the most powerful tanking spell in the game or 2 shot mvps with an overpowered melee attack that does more damage than even acid bomb

 

what do shadowchasers get? aside from an unreliable overpriced range attack that potentially misses and gets the player killed for exposing themselves, their compensation is a half assed copy spell that only does a fraction of the damage of a skill that it does on its original class due to gear issues and an autospell cast that relies on single target melee attacking monsters in a post fleenerf renewal world.

Shadow Chasers get masqs, divest skills and some others? They don't have to be a killer class you know. Also I hate manhole + land mine way more.

Some info about RapidThrow according to my knowledge/experience (kro/jro).


Rapid Throw/Overthrow uses 100k damage to deal 50~100k damage.
Has a chance to fail, depending on casters LUK/DEX.
Deals 50% damage to Boss monsters, 100% damage to players.
In WoE skill based damage (RT included) is halved (-50% reduction).
No modifiers affect this damage.
Deviling, GR cards should not reduce the damage.
Demi-human reductions should not reduce the damage.
If Throwing Mastery is not learned deals only 50% damage.
Damage is equally divided between all targets it hits.

So, SC using Rapid Throw/Overthrow will deal only 25~50k damage, or 12.5~25k in WoE.
The easiest way to counter Rapid Throw is not try to solo and move with a group.
Nobody uses Rapid Throw on the servers I play because it is ridiculously easy to counter, has long cooldown and it is expensive.
It is only good as a secondary skill for taking out single targets who are afking somewhere (and dont have more than 25k hp - who doesnt have more than 25k hp?:o).
Most of the time RT is only used for killing other Ninjas.

The real skills anyone is worried about are Expansions/Killing Curse.
Killing Curse at level 5 always hits for 25% of MaxHP and has 100% success, even hitting White Imprisoned and Manholed targets.
Also very low chance to coma.

except on THIS server shadow chasers get FULL damage even without Dagger throwing.... thats where the real issue lies... they can actually use this skill better than the class it comes from... that right there is a serious imbalance...

I don't get why guilds don't get like 5 SC/Kagerou/Oboro and just have them spam rapid throw on groups that come in, sure it might fail(and thats why you have at least 5), but that cumulative un-mitigatable damage is just another DB that can break entire force entry groups.

waste of time, any decent guild will rush in full force of 50 so if you go and throw 5 RT's it wont scratch them because of the damage even distribution

GMs when are we getting the 50% damage only for RT if Dagger Throw Practice is not level 10? You guys seem to have unpinned that thread where we could see what updates we have or not have.
