I would like to propose that players are offered a one-time free slot-change for their characters.

I know many (if not all) of us have had our character slot-ordering scrambled with the server merge. This caused us a certain level of frustration. And the staff have offered a solution to correct this, which I do appreciate.

However, the fact that we have to pay some sort of compensation for this service, I feel, is wrong. The problem occurred due to no fault of our own. I do not understand why this cannot be dealt with in a similar manner as the name-conflict issue.

I really wish something could be done about this.

Although the character placement doesn't bother me that much, I do agree with this. As far as I know, they do provide this service for free, but you have to make a ticket about it. With this new automatic system implemented, both temporary character slot replacement and character renames (For those with _I _C _L _Sak attached to their name) should be provided.

I will never ever even consider paying for this. It has no effect on the game at all whatsoever. In that respect I feel its wrong for them to charge us for this as well. This shouldn't even be anything even considered as something to pay for. It should just be built into the character select screen. The name change box I completely agree with. As changing names freely could lead to scamming of all sorts.

also know a majority of the RO community requested the server merge. thus it being a choice of the players and not a choice forced onto the players by the GMs.

so providing everything free for something the consequences would be known to the community would be weird. correct me if Im wrong but all information regarding the server merge was available to the public, the consequences and results would be known well before the merge happened.

They never told us our character slots were going to be scrambled.

Forcing us to pay for a mess-up on their part is... wrong.
Doesn't impact me, although I like having mains/most useful chars in the middle slots of their pages. I don't like it enough to pay for that, though!

Anyways, no. It's not going to happen, nice try though. Instead of trying a petition( XD )you would have been better off trying to suggest it as a treat to everyone since the chaos servers were "chaotic" for a bit. How character slots annoy people I have no idea, but hey, if the slots your chars are in are THAT special then lay down some money for it.

Edit: Also, they can charge w/e they want its a business at the end of the day. The game is not running on donations nor is the content locked for f2p.(I'd love to post examples but I'd never introduce horrible games to these people =o )

Wrong.

The server merge was forced on players it was which, if only 2 or all 3, that was player influenced. Someone doesn't remember the protest on Yggdrasil when they just up and announced closing the server.

back on topic. i always felt it was wrong to intentionally move our characters around then charge us real money to move them back to there original order. some people had their main characters in their first 3 slots so they could continue to play them even if their VIP ran out.

As already stated by someone else, there was no notice of this happening. I don't think it was intentional, and I'm not making that an issue. My problem is that we have to pay for this.

Petition, suggestion, in the end, what I'm asking for is the same thing.

And with your argument, you might as well say they can delete our accounts and charge us to recover it. That wouldn't make any sense.

What about Valk? No one from Valk asked to be merged, as far as I remember. They just decided to slop it in there,

I don't think this should have been something anyone had to pay for. First off, they're the ones who messed up the characters and second off, it really contributes nothing to the game as someone else already mentioned. If they're hell bent on charging for a useless product (other then personal aesthetics) they shouldn't charge 5$ for a single swap when they allowed people to make a total of 27 characters.

But what's done is done, I guess.

Okay, I'm sorry I didn't see that. Then can a moderator please move this to the specified section, and have it changed to a proposal?

And just to clarify, I'm not asking that this service remain free. I think it's fair that it stays a paid service, like the name-change. I'm saying it should be offered once to undo the mess the merge did (like the one-time free name-change).

Isn't it pretty much an unspoken rule that the "Proposals and Suggestions" forum is actually the "Trash that nobody reads who matters" forum?

I had my chars ordered in a very distinct order: highly played to almost never played and I really wanted an option to reshuffle them after THEY screwed up, but I was almost certain after Oda mentioned something about "tickets" that the would charge us for it (wasn't sure how much though) so I just decided to live with it.


That's just how Gravity works -> screw up and make money with it. Can't say that's a bad idea from a moneymaking-viewpoint.
