I'm an aspiring Dominator and I've recently started my first Soul Hunter. After spending some time researching here on Dominators I still have some questions left unanswered. I hope the veterans shine some light on these:

1. Is there such a build designed strictly for AFK PvE leveling for Dominators? (From the skills to the DNA.)

2. What are the most important skills for AFK PvE Dominators? (Aside from the pets of course.)

3. Is it really required to get Vampiric Touch at least to level 1? (Because if I do decide to put a point there I might as well max it.)

4. This one I'm really confused about: Does Blessing of Wind really override/cancel out Invisibility? I read somewhere that it does, but I also saw a guide that has maxed out both skills.

5. Which is better to max out, Stregthen Summoned Monster Buffs (2 of them.) or Binding Weapon and Relapse Wound? (I mean if I don't get the buffs will I still be an effective AFK Dominator?)

6. Can someone also give me an overview on how to level up the Soul Hunter to a Dominator from level 1 - 50? Much appreciated.

This is my planned build for my Dominator, please feel free to criticize:

Soul Hunter

Attack of Curse - 1
Bloody Arrow - 1
Vampiric Touch - 1
Rake Nail - Max

Invisibility - Max
Blessing of Wind - Max

Shape of Fear - 1
Shadow Binding - Max

Summon Illusion - 1
Summon Kazara - 1
Summon Lenatore - 1

Dominator

Summon Ennon - Max
Summon Nastech - Max
Summon Medium Kazara - Max
Summon Medium Lenatore - Max
Summon Humbaba - Max

Strengthening Summoned Monster Physical Attack - Max
Strengthening Summoned Monster Magic Attack - Max

DNA

Strengthened VT - Max
Potens VT - Max
Swift VT - Max
AOE VT - Max

Thanks for the replies in advance. ;)

1st of all, afk domis just need max pet since the domi itself doesnt do anything >.> apparently the pet damage is independent of the domi's stats ie- all pets are the same for everyone (with only buffs and lvl of pet skill being different). you may use max pet buffs when initially starting your afk run.

afk or away from keyboard domis are normally used by lazy people who farm drops or level a kruxena class without trying :/ i dont like them and i dont see them as anymore than bots with or without a botting program. to play domi means u should actually be "playing".

as for actual domi play

VT only needs 1 skill point. this is because damage gained per skill point is small. its power comes from later dna which increase range and speed of cast.

BoW and Invis can both be used for a stacked effect. Invis will add a % to evasion. BoW will add a static amount. im sure Invis does not multiply buff effects but rather, only eva gained from gear.

the best domi build i have seen used 'now' is by ThreeTimes6. He runs a evasion up, acc down build. basically it makes melee or AA builds redundant on him since he rarely gets hit + his kazara's slow allows him to out run an oncoming person. hence binding weapon will work well here.

relapse wound is some times used in dungeon runs to make mobs (especially in later dungeons) easier for the party.

lvling 1-50 isnt hard and is best done with xp event or HH. Ancient Temple will be good spot to lvl later on. but really 1-30 is a breeze even without xp event.

Thanks for the very fast and informative reply exilehunter. I have seen 3x6's build too and it had me thinking of doing something similar.

Let's see if I got you correctly:

I should max out the pet buffs instead of Binding Weapon and Relapse Wound if I want to AFK grind.
I just need VT at level 1 but with max VT DNAs.
I can take both Invi and BoW. They will stack and not override each other.

Correct?

I have one more question: Which AFK leveling spots do you recommend at level 40 - 50 - 60?

Again thanks.

for afk-domis there's no need to max AoE-VT, the strengthened VT thingy not even for "active" domis

since u wrote u only want to afk-grind there's no need for the debuffs

DNA : u should max the DNA for Invisibility (gives +11% more, so 43% if the buff itself is 10), enchant ur gear with Ion Mine Evasion (100) ---> mobs attack with aa most of the time so it will work nice for u

edit : VT (skill) at 1 is enough (max. is a waste of pts), Shadow Binding is only needed for active domis

Thanks ThreeTimes6, man I saw you at Nova Lux the other day. U rock man. I'm kinda modelling my build from yours, tweaked it a bit cuz I wanted to AFK grind most of the time, I'm active almost 30% of the time though.

Got another set of questions:

What do you think is the best level 65 armor for Domi's?
Should I use knuckles at level 65 or stick to staff?
I can't afford Accu Double Downs yet so I tried enchanting my weapon with Continuous Curse Property Damage Lvl3. Is that good enough?
And one more thing, u said I should max DNA for Invi, but should I take Blessing of Wind?

I would recommend enchant ion mine defense xeons in armor for pve, the class is really squishy and evasion doesnt cut it by itself. at 65 you should be using the foc sylkia set or w/e it is called for defiler class.

I would not advice to make a afk domi as numeran and cresent and ST are pk available now, And like VN said you don't really need all the dna in VT if your gonna do afk domi build. But I like VT making it instant cast with aoe healing ability from it. Does the magic attack buff work now as awhile back I know people where saying it did not work? If you want to get into raids with it I would suggest putting points into relapse wound. If your gonna solo dungeons the pet buffs are kinda useless as well though as your gonna have to respawn the pets until the boss is dead cause if you put yourself in the mix more then likely you well die.

yea Magic Mastery(Curse) works --> 10%

debuffs are always better than the pet-buffs, no matter what u want to do
