In my opinion, you can be pretty versatile with the gear you use in rose. Learn more about the different gears and then start using your own preference. You don't necessarily have to use the same gear as everyone else to play well. I still believe how a person plays is more important than the gear they use. Like Squipy for example, I'll use the same exact stats/gears and still don't perform anywhere near as well as she does when I try cleric.

also alot of it is positioning, where you stand in different situations. purify is a big thing aswell. if someone is running back and getting attacked and are slowed then a purify is way more affective than a heal in my opinion

Gear I have. Full glor, chiv, rein, buff sets etc. Patience i seem to be lacking lol. I haven't played a CD in months, just sick of all the insults etc. Getting ganged by 4 or more enemies and still mananging to get off a few heals to teammates and some ass is trying to get me to buff his sets at the same time then calling me a noob cause he stood there and died. Just sick of it I guess.

The amount blocked is minimal, probably 200 at most for physical defense.

However the Magic Defense blocked is like 1.5k on the Magic Pearl compared to the low amount for Sopdu.
Not to mention the difference of 42% block rating vs 15.5%.
Rather block 42% of the time at 1k, than say 15.5% of the time at 1.5k

I personally prefer the Magic Pearl, but it all depends on your build such as if you have your blocking passives maxed or not.
