Im a past RO player in 2003 and I played for a good 5 years. I have decided to come back because this game always had a place in my heart and now it free too lol. I was wondering how the game today? Has it changed alot or a little? Thank you for your answers ;D.

Main things ive found, as a player returning to RO from years ago is:
Renewal :- Easier to lvl, monsters have been shifted around to diff maps and given a bit of a boost. Eden quests (novice nps elven ears) - the quests are repeatable and a nice break from grinding with certain quests giving the eden gear which is well worth it if you're starting out with nothing and just want to slowly level and re-learn.Irowiki is helpfull as are parts of the forums.

However there are alot of bots and zeny sellers but there is a nospam program to stop the zeny seller spam. I don't WOE and cannot comment on the lag, also cannot comment on the community as im a bit shy =X Oh the forums are useful to know whats going on but don't take every positive or negative to heart till you've tried it for yourself.Finally there is the Kafra shop where you can either pay to win pretty much or use it as a little help out ( Ive used it to buy a token of seigfried when i died just at the place where i needed to be and reallllllly didnt fancy rewalking all that way again,

Basically I'd say give irowiki a browse and give it a try, see what you think.

Thank you everyone for your reply and I shall give it a shot. I remember the bots and Zeny sellers from the past many of my old friends left because of that ):, but im still willing to play the game can not wait to make a character again.

If you plan to go to classic, don't waste your time. The way the server is being handled, along with the community are extremely offputting. The server has pretty much become " WOE or go home " , which is sort of sad. Doesn't help the community wants updates FAST FAST FAST, and doesn't realize most MMORPGS get 2 "big/semi big " updates a year, and we had 5 last year on classic alone.

Main thing between 2003 and 2013 its still a game so enjoy.

Play Renewal if you want to become a God
Play Classic if you want to remain a Mortal

Depends do you plan on playing renewal or classic? Changes from the old ways is spawns on maps / kafra shop

I've played RO since late 2003 and it's certainly changed a lot, but sometimes I think for the better. Renewal seems to be very hit or miss with the community, so if you end up not liking it you can play Classic. It's true that Classic is very WoE focused but... so is Renewal in certain ways, I just ignore that aspect of the game to be honest.
