After the update the game can't start, what should I do? Help?

Mine is also doing that, i get this error cannot init d3d OR grf file has a problem. This has happened after patiching today..

And all drivers n direct x is up to date.

No, yours is NOT doing that. It's giving a completely different error message which means something totally different. Don't say that you have the same problem when you get a different error message.

OP is getting a "ragexe.exe has stopped working" error - which I don't know how to fix.

You are getting a "cannot init d3d or grf has problem", which means that the game doesn't have an available graphics mode - Open the setup program and select something in both of the top two menus and save the settings. Run setup as admin. If running it as admin doesn't solve the problem, run it normally and see if that works. Failing that, start playing with the compatibility settings until it works.

Ok I fixed it with repair from its install file but it got the same problem as the RO classic and all my characters are gone.

Whoops sorry didn't mean to cause confusion. I'll try what you said Azzy but do you know why it'd do that after a patch when I've never had that issue before? I'll try your advice, thanks.
