need advice on which homun base going for sera to get:
- vanilmirth
- filir
- amistr

just from what i know, currently undecided:
vanil - nice overall stats, mhp/msp
filir - better skills than vani (atk/aspd/flee) but less hp/sp
amistr - castling for "snap" and bulwark for some vit

my future gene is going to be mvping with this future sera (pain killer), but i have very low experience on homunculus, so what do players usually go for a sera base?
just so i don't waste an embryo and homun leveling time

If you don't have the patience to lvl it up, get a vani, if you're in no rush, get an amistr.

Note that having an amistr as a base will make lvling your sera a lot slower due to not having any offensive skills.

oh crap i totally missed the fact that amistr has no attack skill,
oh well so between vanil and filir, vanil levels significantly faster?
filir seems to have nice skill set, while caprice seems to the be the only practical skill for vanil

Realistically Amistr is kind of the only homu that has anything that contributes to end-game, which is Bulwark and gives +VIT. Everything else is just for the leveling phase; homus get squished by strong skills so HP doesn't matter much, SP doesn't matter since you can throw blue pots at it, ATK and so on don't matter since you won't get the homu to attack anything important. With the cooldown on bulwark you're only really going to get a consistent +15 or +20 VIT though.

Vanil is better with caprice and chaotic (yeah it heals random but still count as healing skill) so you can level on high level monsters. Filir just ok if you just afk leveling...

i kind of decided to go with filir; going to get it in a few hours though, stlll busy to play atm.
wait so caprice has higher DPS compared to filir's moonlight and its self buffs on?

Moonlight has considerably better DPS (delay is shorter, iirc, and the top end damage possible is about twice what caprice does) - but moonlight is melee range, and caprice is ranged. This makes caprice way better if you're doing OD2, where tagging a monster at a distance is often more useful (see the Snipe tactic in AzzyAI). For attended leveling on maps other than OD2, moonlight is a better attack skill.

Oh cool, I set it to use snipe by default? So I did!

I guess I got sick of people not using that feature even though it produced a large improvement in exp/hr, so I set it up by default :-P

You'll want to fiddle with the tactics when you get poison mist, though (you want to have her cast poison mist on you, ie PoisonMistMode=1, and you can set her to not attack (or probably, "attack low" or "snipe low" on zens) the monsters that get killed by mist. Then set up in a location with zenorc herds, and watch as they all stand in the mist attacking your sera while the poison gas kills them, and your sera can focus on killing orc skels and archers (which won't end up dying to mist, either due to undead ele, or the fact that they're not standing in it, respectively).

btw once my vanil is evolved and 99, i guess i can just change it to sera, (without getting the loyalty skill since it seems impractical anyways)

Yeah, loyalty skill is only useful for Vani->Eira (since eira can farm loyalty)

I think having filir turn into sera would make your sera level much faster (which is the most important part) since his attack spell does not only more damage on a consistent basis than vanil, but vanil will sometimes cast the wrong element on monsters and do almost no damage. but ya, vanil has better stats and MUCH better hp from what ive noticed (ive leveled them both to max). Filirs hp pool is actually quite depressing. he has like 4-5k less health then all of the other homunculus.

lol poor filir really needs a Renewal buff. hes so outdated that its pathetic
