I have done lots of research in these forums, and I have used a lot of what I read to recently reset my skills, but I think I messed up. Can someone who is experienced with AS rangers please help me out?

I originally had all in Dex and Agility, with some luk (for auto attacks), Int and Vit... This build was too all over the place, as I was debating using my Warg alot more. I want to go pure AS Build, so I reset, and this is what I have currently:

I am currently 102/14 and my AS is level 6 (I have warg ride for reasons...lol)

STR -- 1
AGI -- 1
VIT -- 60
INT -- 81
DEX -- 103
LUK -- 1

EQUIPS :
Incarnation of Morroc (w/ Isillia card)
Sigruns Wings (just for fun...)
CD in mouth (again just for fun...)
+9 Elven Bow (w/ Archer Skeleton Card)
+9 WWS (No card yet, Luk and str enchants)
+4 WW Manteau (agi enchants)
+4 WW Boots (No card yet... enchants: 150SP, 200HP, 1agi)
WW Brooch (enchants: 300HP, 1dex)
Bow Thimble (With Phen Card)

Currently, my AS is hitting on average 30k, give or take. Considering the amount of upgrades, enchants and cards I have, I feel like this number should be higher... considering I was doing about the same before I +9 my WWS and Bow. My original build had high AGILITY because the Wiki said to do this. Now, I walk and everything hits me, its annoying.

I should also note, currently my goal is leveling fast and doing MVP, ET etc. I don't care about solo for MVP, I have some friends to do this with, but I want to do lots of damage.

Questions (forgive me for stupid questions)

1. My stats, do I have something good going on here? Was that stupid to reset and take away all my agility and instead put tons of Vit? What are the pro/con of each build? Should I be rushing DEX to 120 or split up the 3 like I have?

2. My gear. What card should I put on my WWS for a good AS build?

3. Upgrading boots to +9 and put firelock soldier card, yay or nay? What other benefit come from getting boots to +9? Should I +9 all my WW gear and is it worth the cost? $$$

4. Headgear, what is best? I am thinking getting a +9 RWH, but what card would be best to put on that? Pirate dagger? Middle headgear?

5. Am I on track with 30k where I am now and being impatient? What do I need to be doing early on to increase my damage?

6. Why does the wiki recommend so much Agility? Is it stupid to split between the two AGI and VIT?

7. My warg.... I am omiting luk that I had before. Can I still have fun messing around with my Warg or is that a lost cause?


Any recommendations will be super helpful! Again, sorry for so much noob.

Please do not point me to other threads, I have spent hours reading in here, but I want answers tailored to my specific needs and current stats to best help me

PS: I totally just did my first upgrades this weekend. It took 10 HD elu and Ori for my WWS and Bow!! Beginners luck i'd say! Went to upgrade my CoD on my other char, 60 HD and I was still at +7 lol.

your stats are fine and you can push to 120 dex but you dont have to.

armor: porcellio for some more more atk. boots with Verit if below +9, if +9 I recommend firelock soldier.

3. Upgrading boots to +9 and put firelock soldier card, yay or nay? What other benefit come from getting boots to +9? Should I +9 all my WW gear and is it worth the cost? $$$

if you do have the zeny to get the boots to +9 you should consider this option. if you're happy with verit card: get WW mant at +9 and try to aim for FS enchants on it.

top headgear if you have the funds: Evil Marching Hat +9 (more ranged damage) or Rideword hat for a chance to get some SP/HP returned. Middle headgear could be BDM if you have one. or maybe a midgear which has a card slot which you could use for a status immunity maybe?

you are definately on the right track. 30k on that level is respectable. keep at it ^^

the wiki might refer to ASPD based rangers instead of a pure AS build. AS builds virtually dont need agi unless you want the flee

you could get luk now but its not to proc autowarging. Luk in an AS build gives you a bit more damage. (every 3 luk = 1 atk) and it comes with status duration reduction. making it a good allround stat to have if you are happy with the current dex/vit/int you have.

Thank you so much for the reply! Great feedback. I think I am going to +9 my boots after all! I might actually max out Dex in that case... and then put stats in luk!

Anyone else have suggestions for my questions?

Honestly for level 6 AS, you're doing pretty good damage. As for card for top and mid headgears, you can use a Dark Pingicula card for +10 attack each. I'd personally try to get 120 dex, 90 int+vit, and the rest on luck (as long as it's a pvm AS build).

Oh and put one point in Trap Research for an SP bonus of 220 SP !

It depends on whether you like damage or restoration more . I prefer a +9 RWH because I usually don't have to ask for SP or use Straws. You could use a carat (if +9) for 150 SP, or a Dark Pingicula for +10 attack. There might be other good cards but I can't think of any at the moment :/.

And aww, I have terrible upgrading luck too xD!

I went with the RWH and I just successfully got it to +9 I think the Dark Pingicula card sounds good, its pricey but Ill probably go with that, unless there is a better attack card for headgear.

Now... to attempt the boots again.... I am quickly running out of zeny lol.

120/90/90 served me well. Once I got a RWH to +7 it made a world of difference, I could go on for hours (Before I'd have to blow quite a few light blue potions in a TI).

Don't forget converter. You can deal way more damage with the right converter.

These boots... are killing me. So much luck with my WWS, RWH and Elven bow.... but boots?!

Used 70 HD elu and certs, failed, brought to +4. Used 70 more HD elu and certs, failed AGAIN back to +5. Just bought 80 HD Elu, got to 15 and stopped when I was at +7.... so much money spent Is this normal?! I've spent like $20 with nothing to show... and of course Im scared when Im under 20 HD Elu to continue once Im back at +7 because safe certs are killing my zeny.

Any last suggestions for cards for my RWH, WWS and WW boots? Im going shopping soon, and then I will be broke XD The TI this week looks great though, and I can't wait to use my new stuff for it.

RWH card could be Carat card for a bigger SP pool. the suit could either be an element card but that would also mean you will also be weak against another element. Porcellio is a good neutral card to use for your suit. and for WW boots you can always get Verit card. 8% hp/sp. inexpensive and just 2% less then firelock, second best option imo

Carat card is best card for RWH imo. Ppl who use RWH are generally those with some HP/SP problems, so extra sp from carat complement well with RWH to fight SP problem. Dark pinguicula gives extra damage and should be put into headgear that provides damage as well (e.g Evil marching hat) instead of RWH.

Another option you would like to consider is Arc Angeling card (+100% HP/SP regen with 77 base luk, +300 max HP). You won't be needing this card if you use elven bow mainly since carat carded RWH will solve all your sp problems. However, judging from your passion to AS damage, I think one day, you might even consider using giant crossbow to even boost your AS damage. With heavy sp cost from using giant crossbow, arc angeling card will be very helpful. Important! If you don't have any intention to change to giant crossbow in future, don't bother getting Arc angeling card, since it's really pricey.
