Hey guys, I'm a player that has previous experience in leveling a Warrior to level 50 in the SEA servers, but quit due to the immense lag.

I'll share with you first the Pros and Cons of a Warrior.

Pros:
Off-tank, but still decent damage.

Cool two-handed sword(everyone loves the big badass swords. >8D)

Decent sustain skill(Tension relax) to save some money on pots.(It's a lot better than the Knight's 'Aura Heal' which is basically useless for Knights.)

Good AoE, despite what people say, Warrior's have a good repertoire of AoE's that can deal well with adds. And you have the necessary off-tank passives to deal with the incoming damage.

High Parry Rates.

Can switch between off-tank and main-tank whenever needed. Seeing as you wear heavy armor, it does help a lot.

-Will add more later-

Cons:

Melee. Despite the obvious dungeon boss aoe, almost every mob after level 20, is aggressive. Quite a lot of them are close-by each other, which means you might end up tanking more than one mob at a time. Although you'll have an easier time compared to the Thief classes due to your innate tankiness and your ability to burst them down quick enough.

-Will add more later-

Stat builds:

Str: 41
Agi: 41

Note: You can actually get Str to 50 instead if you'd like. But I chose to balance it, since Crit spikes are nice, and also help with holding Threat.

Str: 41
Vit: 41

I used this on my first Swordie, it's good as well, I'm not sure how much they will adjust this stat in iRO2 but it wasn't as effective as I would have like it to be in the SEA server. It gives a little bit of HP, but I do like how Vit increases the HP gained from Potions.(Just like in RO1!)

Please note that if you want to experiment on your stats, like pumping some more into Strength, you can go ahead if you want. It won't affect your gameplay much. Reason why I chose to go 41:41 is because I think that going over that costs a bit too much Stat points.

My personal skill build: http://www.ro2skills...dnrFdBrBqOeddF1

How this build works for me(I'll be discussing major skills for leveling.):

Bash: I maxed this. This is your bread and butter skill as a swordsman. You will be spamming this non-stop even when you become a Warrior. It also builds up your Aura/Anger which you need to cast most of your high damage skills and your only sustain skill.

Battle Orders: 10% Strength. GG WP.

Aura Strike: As a swordsman, this and Bash will be your main combo. Build up max aura, and Aura Strike to chunk your enemy.

Aura Blade: Tempting skill. But Aura armor just outclasses it, you can get it too if you'd like, but be sure to keep your armor up-to-date, so you don't die too easily.

Aura Armor: This skill is a must in my opinion. When you become a Warrior, you'll be wielding a Two-Handed sword, which makes up for the damage you pass-up by getting this Passive in lieu of Aura Blade. It increases your survivability by quite a lot. The HP increase is just too good to pass up.

Head Crush: Okay skill. Good for prolonged fights because of the DoT.

Warrior skills(Will be discussing skills I used often.):

Anger Control: Get it, don't gimp yourself by not doing so.

Tension Relax: One thing I noticed in RO2, while playing in the SEA server is, that if you buy potions often, you'll be spending a majority if not all of your income by doing so. This skill helps alleviate that, even if it's just a bit.

Defender: Get it. The -10% to attack is worth it. You'll still have more damage than a Knight since you use a TwoHander, and this skill just helps your soloing by a lot. I can't imagine not having this skill.

Brandish Storm: Good AoE, like I said in the Cons, you're melee, and you will most likely be mobbed by aggressives, this skill helps alleviate that problem.

Can be used while moving(Credits to: Shouichirou)

Berserk: Too good to pass up. It's like getting the buffs of Aura Blade while having Aura Armor and negates the -10% that Defender taxes you for.

Rage Strike: Highest damaging AoE skill that hits up to 3 mobs. Some people choose to not max this in lieu of other skills, but I love this, so I max it.

But how do I get my gear?

Weapon-wise, the best way to get BLUE gear is by killing field bosses. I suggest you quest till level 18-20, before getting a party to kill your first boss, the Grand Peco.(There's more of em before that, but it's better to just spend that time leveling, rather than wasting time getting a weapon you'll replace like a couple hours later, since it's easy to level pre-20.)

Every world-boss drops a blue weapon for every character, randomly.

How about armor?

Normal mobs, have a chance to drop blue/green gear. Questing gives you that as well.

Dungeons are probably the best, albeit time consuming(I personally skipped the dungeons, and forged my own armor to get by).
Might I also add, that dungeon Quests give certain Tokens, that can be redeemed for blue gear at certain NPCs in towns/save points, that are usually the closest to the dungeons.

Leveling: Leveling is easily solo-able. Just be sure to do all your quests, and for new players, when you start, look at the "KHARA QUEST" window. Look at the quests, take them on, they are REALLY good exp, they also give TITLES, which in this game, gives you pretty awesome stats.

Cards:

Snatcher Raiders Card
Strength +6
Agility +6
Intelligence +6
Wisdom +6
Vitality +17

If I remember, this card is for lvl 50s. Before that, however, just use whatever cards you get from mobs that have Str/Agi/Vit since cards in RO2 have a much higher drop-rate compared to RO1.

Also, the cards system works a bit differently in RO2, you equip them like you do your armor, you no longer put them in your gear. You gain more card slots as you level, up to a maximum of 5, I believe, correct me if I'm wrong.

Jobs/Profession:

Blacksmith: Makes heavy armor, weapons, and rune hole drills for your equipment.

Blacksmiths get the "Vulcan Guardian"

Artisan: Leather, light armor, and runes.(Probably the easiest profession to level. Since you just need to harvest the mobs that you kill.)

Artisans get the "Veriel Guardian"

Alchemist: Makes HP and SP potions, also stat-boost potions. This is pretty worth getting, seeing as Alchemist's can produce the best end-game potions in the game. Which really help out in Dungeons, Raids etc.

Alchemists get the "Hohenheim Guardian"

Chef: HP/SP Food(which you eat by sitting down), and Food buffs.

Chefs get the "Demeter Guardian"

My Advice: Keep your profession level on par with your base level, if not higher. It's the best thing you can do for yourself(and your friends, potentially.)

Also, monster drops that include, but may not be limited to: Firmament Essence, Earthly Trace, Root of Life, Monster Fragment, and Spirit of Ruin.

Keep those, don't throw them away or sell them to NPCs as you WILL need them to craft. Also, if you ran out, and are too lazy to kill mobs around your level, the drop rate makes no difference no matter what level you are, so you can actually go back to weaker mobs and massacre their whole lineage for crafting materials.

For a more comprehensive guide on materials, crafting etc. refer to this guide by Jess Cowley: http://gamelytic.com...guide-with-maps

It shows you the other stuff you need in detail, and where to farm the materials you need.

Profession Guardians:

What are "Guardians?"

Guardians are obtainable through an NPC quest in Prontera, after you reach level 10 on your Profession level.
They can be summoned for a small amount of time to give you certains buffs like Movement speed buffs, crit rate, haste right, it depends on the guardian.(All guardians give movement speed buffs)

It's also advisable to get the "Summon Guardian" KHARA Quest(more on this later), and summon your guardian anytime that you can, to complete it eventually.

Guardian Evolution:

There are 3 guardian evolution stages.

At level 10 Profession: This is when you first get your guardian, they will be nothing more than a Ball containing their respective elements.

At level 30 Profession: They will take the shape similar to their final form, except they will look a bit transparent.

At level 50 Profession(Not sure if it's level 50, I just did the quest when I hit Profession level 50): They take their true form, similar to their 2nd form, except that they will no longer be transparent.

But Oenomaus, you mentioned KHARA Quests? What in my shoes is a KHARA QUEST?

Ah! I almost forgot. Khara Quests can be considered as a form of side-quests. Except that most of the things they ask you to do, like kill certain mobs, are the mobs you'll be training on anyways! They're also the only way to get Titles if I'm not mistaken.

But remember, to activate the quests in the KHARA Quest window. And don't just accept everything at once, as you will run out of Khara Points.

Here is an example of what the Khara Quest window looks like: Posted Image

Wait don't leave yet! You said KHARA points? WTFly...?

Khara points are earned by doing certain KHARA Quests, if you don't have enough Khara points, you won't be able to accept certain quests. So use them wisely, use them on quests that you're about to take on. Although you should rarely be in a situation where you won't have enough.

If you have any questions feel free to ask, I haven't played RO2 in about 2 months so I might be a bit rusty, but at least you newer players have a better understanding of the game now than you did before you read my guide.

Thanks for visiting, and don't forget to Upvote! ;D

Nice! Been playing swordsman/warrior as well in RO2 SEA but somehow returned to build my Monk instead (I have always been a monk player since RO).
Do you have stat build that goes along well with you skill build? Thanks.
Thanks for the complete guide. You're recommendations and suggestions are actually fundamental and so in terms of PVE, the builds will basically be sensible no matter what kind of tweaks are added to the game engine/mechanics.
Thanks again :)

Nice guide, should probably throw in rune-options and possibly even stat builds to help more newcomers into the section as well.

Some more pros to add could be;

- high parry rates
- ability to switch between offtank/main-tank on the go (the 10-mob aoes really help there)

As well as a possible edit to [Brandish Storm] description;

- ability to move while casting (as opposed to staying still), etc

Good to see you guys found the information useful. If you guys have any questions feel free to ask me here, and in-game(when the game launches). My iGN will most likely be "Oenomaus" unless someone decides to take it.

The second Guardian Growth quest is obtained at job level 45.
For Chefs, you will have to create Antenna Wisdom Soup of Senses.
For Alchemists, you will have to create Master Artisan Will Potion (IIRC).
The others, I do not know.
But, that's not what this topic is about.

Personally, I maxed out Endure for "Emergency Situations" (AoEs, Combos, etc.) and level 3 Parry for Main Tanking, but I may have to try this skill build out.

Thank you for the info by the way... however i will not be using the exact same build... thanks

well i played a dps warrior on seaRO2 and just read some parts of your post
but i stopped at the "stats"
cuz this stats are only off-tank stats but a warrior can be a hardcore meele dps char!

here are some points for a good warrior dps build :3

go for 20agi and the leftover stats into int!
sounds weird but well u get with decent raid gear about 200int with the 50int build

now here comes the math!

41str are 82attack power *golfclap*

50int (with a battle tactics build) give u 20% more crit dmg!
so u take ur raid gear and put only int runes in it
Your Card of Choice will be the Poisona+ Card (best pre raid int/agi cards)

u use crit/atk/matk food agi buff pots and agi boost pots to get a nice crit boost and with ur 200 int ur crits will do 80% more dmg ^__^Y with that i owned every fkn sorc ranger in the dps/threat meters (6k+ rage blows ftw) and that was only with bapho/pve arena gear

this is the build i used :3
http://www.ro2skills...dCrFqAboqOhohN1

just my two cents :3

Oh trust me, I know what people mean by the power of [Battle Tactics]. I used to exclaim that out to everyone who has asked during the CB on the SEA version (I developed the thing during the Korean CB), but most people called me "crazy for putting INT onto my swordsman".

Only until recently (around 2 months ago), was when many SEA people noticed the skill and tried it out for themselves. From then, [Battle Tactics'] popularity increased many-fold.

Edited my previous post. But I will brief you a realistic possibility a knight/warrior (swordsman) can possess.

For INT
- 3x INT on the stat build
- 55 INT from 5x [Solomian La Christ]
- 128 INT from PVP Accessory set (INT/AGI)
- 27 INT from the title
- 22 INT from INT buff potion (30 minutess)
- 112 INT from INT boost potion (situation-al 30 seconds)
- 10% INT on top of all that from [Dragonology]

*INT stands around ~290 usually, the [INT Boost of 112] is the main ingredient that would pump it to the overkill of ~415 [112 + (112*0.1) = +123 INT]. The "boost" would usually be saved for the beginning of a battle in order to stack up a decent threat gauge to prevent the party/raids fear of taking early aggro. Or in the rare case of the emergency, "this boss has to die right now!" type of thing.
In all honestly, even the defaulted 50~100 INT people gain at Lv50 from title/cards (without much effort) should be enough for most people to "notice" the drastic difference in attacks.

For AGI
- 3x AGI on the stat build
- 70 AGI from 5x [Solomian La Christ]
- 3x AGI from PVP Accessory set (INT/AGI)
- 27 AGI from the title
- No potion (mostly using INT buff/boost)
- 50~70 AGI from CoA gears
- ~80 AGI from runes (mostly +8~9)
- 10% AGI on top of all that from ranger AGI buff

- 2% Crit rate (addition) from [Mark of Genocide]
- 5% Crit rate (addition) from [Pump Pill]
- 5% Crit rate (multiplier) on top of all that, from COA set bonus (x5)

*AGI usually sits around ~300 with the AGI buff (many people have been seen to surpass this). The brunt of the "extra critical rate" comes from the "direct" critical applications. Such as [Pump It Up Hard Pills], [COA/AOD set bonuses], [Mark of Genocide], [Demian Summoning], and the [Shadow Claw Scroll].

Despite stacking mostly on INT/AGI, the purpose is to make a "swordsman" that "uses" [Battle Tactics] as a way to maintain a towering aggro-rate (making it difficult for dps or off-tanks to take over the rage-gauge, so that they could feel safe to go all out, etc).

Basically not going to divulge a stat build exactly, but it may possibly be an lol-2x-3x-3x-2x type of build. Looking at the possibilities, one can ditch the option to focus on VIT/STR runes and "go for broke" by grabbing ONLY AGI runes. And from my personal opinion, I'd say one might not regret a single thing. Rune possibilities could be;

- [~160 more attack power]. If I chose to stack STR runes.
- [600 more hp]. If I chose to stack VIT runes.
- [7~8% more Critical Rate]. If I chose to stack AGI runes.

Clearly I have chosen the third option . . especially if it allowed one to hit the 35~40% [Critical Range]. Making "critical hits" appear more oftenly while taking full advantage of the huge INT pool one can have at their disposal.

Trading "power" or "hp" for a more consistent "burst" (despite warriors/knights not really being known for their burst), was a pleasant "shock" towards people who usually saw what was going on.

*Alternatively, a swordsman could also ditch the [INT buff/boost] potions and go with the AGI-variations (making it possible to hit the low 40-percentile range of consistent "critical hits"). Its possible to even the low 50-percentile [Critical Rate] through the use of the AGI boost potion (though the effect is only a temporary 30 seconds every 5 minutes).*

Great guide. :) To be honest, even in KRO or SEA, Warriors are not just good off-tanks but the potential to be the best TANKS, even better than Monks and Knights and BMs when they have the best epic gears like AOD Hard set and COA hard set. I've personally tried and tested.

Reason: Knights are only good because of the Shield Fortress Skill, seriously if they don't have it, nobody would roll a Knight.
Monks are good, only in solo boss tanking.
Warriors can hold adds and the boss itself, due to the fact that wars can easily obtain 100% parry, plus if you follow Ouenamus guide, the balanced
str and agi. You will get around 20 dodge at the very least when wearing good sets, not to mention, the bonus u will get from runes, and consumables. So to put in shortly, if you plan to play a tank long-time, warriors will be the best, knights, bms and monks are only good as starters, u can say wars are a bit item-dependent :)

*Plus wars are better DPS too, and are awesome killers in duels, colloseum and most probably in WoE as well.*
*Again shoutout to Ouenamus, very great guide, spoken like a pro *clap clap**

Thanks for the positive response guys, and for the Pinning as well!

I agree, Battle Tactics is good since at higher levels, you'll have a surplus if INT provided by gear.

But since I wanted this to be more like a "Starting out player" guide, I decided not to include them for now.(I actually made a knight and 2 warriors in SEA, the 2nd Warrior being a Battle Tactics one) it's pretty impressive, but I don't wanna confuse the newer people.

After all, there's always a skill reset scroll. ;)

I'm sure people will pick it up soon as they get geared and hit the higher levels.

@Ethro

Indeed, Wars can be hardcore melee DPS characters, but if you noticed, that while leveling, you might spend money on Potions a lot to be able to consistently kill mob after mob. Whereas to an off-tank build, you'll be able to kill mobs more consistently without having to pot or rest as often.

Damage will come with gear tho, not to worry. x]

I was thinking of 40 STR 40 AGI 8 VIT stat build Is that ok or is 41 STR 41 AGI Better?? My skill build is also similar as yours the only difference is that my Bash can only be LVL 4 since I made a mistake and made my Bowling Bash LVL 2..
