Moved to the Priest forums? Interesting, that means they've seen the thread but have no comment?

Yeah I'm thinking that might be a bad sign. I hope not.

I kind of like it, makes zeny more valuable and keeps prices down from ourageous amounts like in the billions. Also don't forgoet khara's give zeny too. Perhaps a better solution would be to alter the money sinks? Especially the auction house, I think it takes far too much money on end game type items, with not only it charging to put items in but also taking a % out when sold.

The problem is you don´t realize how valuable it is until you reach lvl 50, this also applies with skills and stats, a newcomer will probably spend money, stats and skills the way he/she sees fit; my friend was a wizard and put some points in water and air skills, which he later realized were totally useless, he had to spend 800z in a reset scroll, he doesn't raid a lot so it is extremely difficult for him to recover those 800z.
Also end game kharas only give like 50 gold or so which is insignificant compared to ah prices.

God forbid people be forced to play well and not be able to rely on a resurrection every single time they die to retarded things.

That is another issue, I would love to see each character be able to have access to a free or semi free skill/stat reset, perhaps a special quest or something along those lines. Kind of like in RO1 where there was a free reset before level 40. If not a permenent feature possibly an event to create new builds based on the skill changes (if any) WP will be making.

God forbid people be forced to play well and not be able to rely on a resurrection every single time they die to retarded things.

God forbid we get special nerfs and bosses get special buffs to force us spend real money.

>play well
>some bosses will literally throw out random unavoidable OHKOs

While I agree that in combat ressing should be limited, when encounters are created around the mechanic of 3-5m resses in kRO2 its foolish to think a buffed version of the encounter while having 30-50m cd resses is acceptable.

I think I know why they did made it this way.

In RO1, Acolyte-resourced resurrection was something that players found a bit annoying as it was an ability that, not did the class have quick and easy access too, but it was a considered unfair in PvP raids and War of Emperium.

Now that it's RO2, and we have an Item Mall, which has revival items in it, Gravity and Warpportal want us to invest in them.

Well, it's still an early beta, so I think there's a chance all of this will change. It could be a mistake, and they could change their mind. I liked iRO, for the most part, so I'll keep a little bit of hope for a while. But it's probably a slim chance. Once a publisher has commited to using the money grab SEA version over the properly balanced original, they rarely change their mind. I just hope they realize that a lot of people only decided to give iRO2 a shot on the hope that it was a language-change-only version of kRO2, a game worthy of the Gravity name. This is really a deal-breaker for a lot of us. And no, I'm not just talking about the res cooldown. Any one of the SEA changes alone could be dealt with. I'm talking about the idea of having to deal with all of the various garbage SEAro2 changes at once, an entire array of cheap ploys designed to push people into the cash shop just to be able to compete at endgame.

I guess they're making the cynical decision that they're better off simply getting a few P2W players paying them a ton of money than having a broad playerbase enjoying the game. I just get sad when I see publishers who don't really see the way the wind is blowing.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not against proper P2P games. I'm very willing to pony up. My only requirements are 1. that it feels like the devs are making an effort to improve things with frequent updates (which I'm sure the Gravity guys in Korea are) and 2. that there are no cheap money grab mechanics which would make me feel like a sucker if I bought something from the CS. I'm not just saying that. I've dumped hundreds of dolliars into F2P games during the last year alone (which honestly wasn't a great year for F2P), even imperfect games (hello Planetside 2). So I figure I represent at least one of the kinds of players they're after. And I'm totally gone unless they have a 100% about face on this, which is unlikely.

Did you get to WoE on any Ragnarok server? Ress is invalid in WoE because if you die, you just get booted off the map to your respawn point. PvP was terrible, as anyone with a priest could kill you, ress you, kill you, ress... until your score reached 0 and you were booted off the PvP map.

There were a few I played where I saw a few Priests revive fallen guild mates before the respawn process kicks in. Apparently, it was a glitch some people knew about that could be triggered in the field was crowed with too much activity for the server to process everything quick enough. An yes, the PVP was as you said, too many people were cheated out of a fair encounter with an Acolyte class.

No. Warpportal said that it's intentional.

The 50-min Res cooldown is intentional? Can you reference a source on that, please?

Only problem I have with res is that it has a god damn cooldown outside of combat. Those ygg leaves are such an unnecessary money sink considering how it's hard to earn money at max level without the market. They should make res not have a cooldown outside of combat.

As far as the cooldown goes, I only find it a hassle in raids where you absolutely need them. They should probably tone down the one shots or tone down the res timer.

I also think the res cooldown should be shortened to KRO2 cooldown, often when i partied idiots would die because they stand in aoe and cant be healed enough to stay alive, then we have to wait for them to run back before we can continue its just a hassle, i do however like the increased difficulty.

I had a chance to propose a solution it would be the following...

Lv 1 - 50 min. cd, 3 second cast time, 30% hp/sp restoration
Lv 2 - 40 min. cd, 2 second cast time, 60% hp/sp restoration
Lv 3 - 20 min. cd, 1 second cast time, 90% hp/sp restoration

However, I feel like there should be a reward to maxing out a skill rather than constant upgrade values.

You are telling me you can't make five zenny with no hands at 50? >_>

@Jargous, Asperio already makes Res restore full HP, and makes it instant.

I can, I just find it a huge and unnecessary money sink in a game where you can buy much more valuable things with money. Like the cash shop items you need to rely on in CoA.

Have others do the ressing while you only do in battle ressurections.

As far as resurrecting alone is concerned, the out of combat CD is indeed the more disappointing aspect. Being a priest in Ro1 I loved being the 1-man rescue team, that winged to the party and resurrected them all, while pulling mobs away. I wouldn't mind if the long seaRo CD would trigger only if res is used in combat.

Having said that this thread is on a broader subject, than the CD alone. I would like to add one more voice into the 'keep it as close as possible to kRo' pool. And even more importantly agree with Kurkushy few post above - don't make us feel like suckers for playing this game.
