Was looking up job class information and I just discovered that Hunter got changed to Beastmaster.

I thought it was a localization thing, but then I looked on the kRO2 site and they also changed it there.

So did they just rename the class or did they give them completely different skillsets in addition to the rename?

I got a hunch that they were intended to be a pet-based class, but gravity can't find a way to implement it and scrapped it.

If that's true, then that's really disappointing. I can't think of anything besides WoW that has assisting pets. I was looking forward to rolling a RO2 Hunter.

I do recall Ranger was supposed to be the bow class while Hunter was a gun class with pet assist skills. I guess somewhere along the way the developers thought it was redundant to have two range classes that are basically the same so they decided to give Rangers the pet stuff and turn Hunter into something different.

Then again, I never got a glimpse of the original skillsets for Ranger and Hunter so I don't know for sure. Right now, I see Rangers have a Falcon Assault skill so there's room for them to expand on that. I really hope they haven't dropped the assist pet for sure because that would really suck.

Never rolled a Druid on WoW so I'm definitely not interested in a RO2 version called Beastmaster.

Im just really hoping they make build diversity a thing in RO2.
I'm glad they went with a beast morpher instead of summoner/tamer. Its such a neat skill to use, however major lack in variety. Might as well just call them "Bear Masters". Tigerform is movement speed only, no attacking. No Hawk form? I would have liked to see a Turtle/Bear/Tiger/Hawk form. 4 skill branches.
Turtle=tank. Bear=Melee DPS, Tiger=Mobility/Debuffing Hawk=Ranged/Magical DPS

Gonna get back to dreaming.

Udyr is suppose to be more of a monk though. Beastmasters are more like druids from almost every other MMO that has druids.

So from what I can glean from that, they modified Hunter after the R-Care Test last year.

I still want assist pets, though. Guess that'll probably a Ranger thing.
