Thanks for the guide!

I'm new to the game and am planning on making a Hybrid Priest.

I just wanted to know which parts of the guide are still applicable or not applicable with the current updates to the game?

Thanks for the help :)

Only skills that a bit outdated. The writer only focusing on past updates and rushing to lv 50. With Colosseum and Raid updates, some skills are buffed or nerfed by its own, not because developers change the skills effect but because some skills like holy light and high heal will cover the weakness from ray genesis and heal lv 5 in these days and end game...

These changes are just based from my own experience but at least matching the latest update:

- DoTs, only Credo that worth to max. The other two are not (just leave it lv 1)

- Holy light/Lex Divina, you can max it if you want more DPS skills. Best that you pick them if you not pick Arch Angel. You will lack healing skills and considered as DPS build if you max both Holy Light and Arch Angel...

- Gloria, optional but instant cast can help your healing a lot...

- I rather max High Heal rather than Sacrament if there is any leftover. Take High Heal similar to Ray of Genesis in term of healing..

Hey, I'm new to this game and I am not sure if I should start a priest.

You say the hybrid priest can solo more easily than the FS but still be a good healer in parties and even raids.

Where exactly is the difference to a FS then? Is it just more heal, slower leveling? Is there anything FS can do better than hybrid, or anything that requires a FS rather than a hybrid priest in the party?

Long story short: What are the disadvantages of being a hybrid priest compared to FS?

The guide looks really good, though and I'm sure it will help me a lot if I decide to go the priest way.

PS: Do you guys recommend Priest as a first char?

It really depends on your playstyle and goals. The main diffirence between FS and hybrid priest is the distribution of skill points in Offensive and Heal trees. Hybrid priest is designed to be able to level and solo mobs easily while still being needed in raids and parties where heals are required. This is accomplished by putting points into both Offensive tree (DOTs, Ray of Genesis) and Support tree (healing).  In contrast, FS priest invests all his points only in healing. Because FS priest doesn't invest any points into offensive skills except for Holy Light soloing without any help will be really challenging. In terms of raids, you have a potential to heal better as you are a support priest.

The only disadvantages of being hybrid, in my opinion, are you might have some difficulties in healing in later raids although it's not a case at the moment with pets. I would recomend you go with hybrid build if you don't have any friends/guildmates that are willing to powerlevel you. Also, if you are planning to get Colo gear the only way to get it is to be a Hybrid priest. This is because only hybrid priest has a killing potential to be successful on the arena.

Priest as a first char is fine. It all depends on your playstyle. If you are okay with just healing and keeping people alive then it should be fine. However, if you also like to be able to kill things on your own go with Hybrid build. Even if you change your mind later you can reset your skillpoints anyway.

P.S. You might want to skim through the last comments in this thread as well as to check other guides to make a comparison.

Thanks a lot for your answer! I will definitely make a hybrid priest now, and as you said - if I don't like it I can still reset the skills (or roll a new priest if my lvl isn't that high).

I don't have any guildmates or friends since I just started yesterday, leveled a mage up to lvl 12 to see if I like the game.

A friend of mine will start to play the game, but he might play priest too.

Thanks!

Btw; does 36 Int mean 36 on "Basic" or "Bonus" ?

I want to go with 36 Int 36 Vit 25 Agi is that fine?

e/ How about this build? http://www.ro2skills...beBdDrbrBeA2BqA

Thanks Exvee!

So in the Attack branch I should max Credo, Holy Light or Lex Divina, and what about Ray of Genesis?.

In the Support branch Blessing, Aspersio, Gloria (At level 3 its 15% chance to crit right?).

In the Healing branch max Heal, Renovatio and Assumptio.

So the skill tree would look something along these lines, http://www.ro2skills...beBdDrblbeD2oqA

They become largely redundant at the end, other than alchemist. Making artistan/blacksmith gear when leveling isn't worth the time (and the level 50 recipes are rare/expensive, so it's easier to just use someone else's crafting service), though they have runes/punchers that are good to use once you have a full raid set.. but they can also be purchased from other players. Chef was made largely unnecessary due to the long-time attendance reward, though those are changing so it might start becoming slightly better.. but still, not too hard to buy buff food from other players. Potions at least are always nice to have, and the level 50 recipes aren't too expensive to buy.

But, there's not really any "best" fit - if you end up making multiple characters, you can just have one of each profession and use the mail system to send the items around.

Because he used the 'top down' method, the missing images are: Holy Light, Lex Divina, Oratio ... and so on. Check out these two sides for more information. roguard.net for skill informations // ro2base.com for a better skill calculator (but false skill descriptions).

Keep in mind that both this guide and the sites are outdated because the game is at the brink of extinction!

You don't have to, because they are outdated.

Followings are some sample builds to guide you through.
