Warrior is a better offtank. Warrior is worse than Knight at maintanking and over time becomes roughly equal, but can never replace Shield Fortress.

Warrior has high Parry. Knight has block and high defense.

warrior also has better AoE and a great self-heal.

Both do just fine as tanks providing you gear properly.

This + Better mobility = Why Warriors are better offtanks than Knights.

Warriors aren't offtanks because they are bad at maintanking, they are offtanks because they are best at offtanking. Note the fact that if you decide to raid, you will NOT be tanking the boss and adds at the same time. You will die. So someone has to tank the boss, and someone has to tank the adds.

Add Tanking (Mobility and Burst Threat)
Warrior > Knight > Beastmaster > Monk

Boss Tanking (Survivability)
Monk > Knight > Warrior > Beastmaster

(Buff Beastmasters)

So in a nutshell, Warriors only maintank when both of the raid's tanks are Warriors. And Knights only offtank when the raid also has a Monk. Barring major gear differences or the maintank being on vacation.

Well said~ Pretty much all there is to it.

One other thing to note is the token distribution for End Game raids. Knights have a lot more competition since yellow tokens are for Sorcs/Knights/Rangers, so there could be a potential 5 people in the raid needing it. Whereas warriors have less competition in rogues/BMs/wizards.

I know a few people who went one way over the other for this reason.
