Complained about this through Steam, someone made a fix. Here it is, should work fine.

Not entirely sure why, but this fix did not work for me at all.
I was so looking forward to being able to play.

As for not hearing anything for a week, that's pretty unprofessional.

this and the PhysX issue without any official reply is absolutely ridiculous... i dont understand why the only option is to make a new account, register and login should be there, come on there is no valid reason for this!

Dear Warp Portal,

Can you at let us least know if you are trying to fix the problem or even intend to fix the problem instead of keeping us in the dark? Youre making it difficult for me to give you my money.

So the ticket I opened a while back about this issue was closed without a response. They didn't even read what I was talking about and just gave me information on how to register an account.

Still no resolution, using the non steam game method is lame and annoying.

If you want to get creative and be able to access the steam community through the game, while still registering through the WarpPortal website, I finally figured out the process to manage that.
1) Close Steam
2) Delete "WPLauncher.exe" from your "steamapps/common/Ragnarok Online 2" folder
3) Rename "RO2client.exe" as "WPLauncher.exe
4) Under the "SHIPPING" folder, set the compatability mode of "Rag2.exe" to "Run as Administrator"
5) Set the compatability mode of Steam to "Run as Administrator"
6) Enjoy!

When I did this I got an error during the patch :/ any help?

This worked for me, although steam still doesn't seem to be logging my playtime.
Also, since using this patch I now get the "Running Steam in Windows compatibility mode is not recommended." warning box come up although no compatibility options are checked in teh regular or 'all users' boxes?

Did anybody ever hear back from the admins about this?

1º Open STEAM.

2º Create a .bat File using notepad (Saving As and putting .bat at the end of file name)

3º Add this to the file "start Shipping\Rag2.exe /IP=login.playragnarok2.com /FROM=-FromLauncher /STARTER=1 /steam=yes" without quotes

4º Save to the Ragnarok 2 Folder (Same place here the WPLauncher, RO2Client and Launcher2 is) the name is your choice, mine i've put start.bat

4º Execute your bat file

5º And Have FUN!!

When you open the game u will se the Steam Game UI loading withing him xD

OBS: Only thing u need to do is eventually running the game normaly using steam or RO2Client,exe to update the game

Forget 6 months its been a year! , I just recently got back and my RO2 folder just crashes on loading so I thought I might as well redownload through steam and play it there... Bad Idea apparently

Oh Soulworld, I feel your pain.

Day 367.

New players arrive on the scene.
Many decide it best to create their game accounts before downloading their games.

I was one of them.
... I was a fool.

Excited upon realizing Ragnarok Online was on Steam, I race to WarpPortal to make an account and then download both RO and RO2 on Steam...

... I go to sleep...
... I wake up...

Excited to play, I race to my computer, and hit Play on Steam.

To be confronted with a create account screen.
"But I have an account!" I gasped. My eyes raced around the screen, looking everywhere for a log in option. Alas, there was none.

There's no way to delete an old account. My username... I can't give up my precious username!

My heart sinking, I look online to see if there is a resolution, or if maybe there was something my eyes had missed.
There was none.

So I hopped onto the forums for my first post: A complaint.

... Hi everyone.

Holy -_-! I think I've solved this problem >:D

If I've understand the problem here right. o.o

My problem was that when I want to play RO2 trough Steam, it starts the WarpPortal Launcher and it says to create a new account. But I already had an account and today I finally reached to log in trough Warp Portal Launcher with my OLD Account. Without creating a new one! :D

Whatever I wrote in "User ID" - It always said me "Invalid".

You have to write there your In-Game-User-Name of RO2. (Not the WarpPortal Forum Nickname. Not the Account Nickname)

With that I reached to play trough Steam.

Before I was forced to manually open it trough non-steam-game folder: RO2Client.exe. That sucked!

Also the game information never actualisied or were even count in steam. So just put your in-Game-Nickname in the field "User ID" and do not create a new password! It must be the same as the old one. Same goes with the email-adress. It must all be the same...nothing new. So that it emerges the Warpportal-Account/ RO2 Acc with Steam. I hope i helped you a bit. This worked for me.

When you have done that It opens automatically the next step "Account Conformation": "Each R02 account can only be linked to one Steam account. Before proceeding, please confirm your email adress: sample@example.com."

"If you have confoirmed your email adress click here" "LOGIN"

So, now I've received an email saying:

"Welcome to WarpPortal, *Game Nickname*!

Thankyou for registering.

We hope you will enjoy playing our games.

In order to activate your acc. please click the following link or paste it ... ... ..

*LINK*

So, I clicked it now..

Now it opens a lin which beginns with www.warpportal.com/steam/registration(......) that sounds good...like it will finally connected >:D..

So now there stand in the warpportal: " Your email has been confirmed" YEAH!

Now i click on the Warpportal Launcher to "LOGIN"

The game automatically start opening R02Client.exe...and updated yeah :D Before I have had to manually update it every time...Hm.

Now the new design LOGIN is there, it automatically starts.

PERFECT! It shows on Steam that I'm currently Playing RO2! Have fun guys, I will now play :D

Greetings :)

One Problem. -.-

I wanted to play now but my old character is not there anymore, although I have put there my Game-Nickname. Whats that ?  Even my Game-Nickname is already in use. And just a minute before i linked the acc's together with THAT GameNickname. Heeeh. -.-

Only advatage from the steps I've done: You can play RO2 trough Steam. It shows when you are playing and counts the time and so on...

But you have to make a new character >:(

Just thought I'd point out that it's been 4 years and not only is there no fix, but no admin EVER replied. This is honestly pitiful imo.
