Hello Everyone,

There is a HUGE Bug thats leads FIRE Mages to deal LESS DMG.
If your Fire Ball Mastery Procs sometimes The Fire Ball doesnt Cast Instant and u Loose the Buff.
PLEASE take Notice of this BUG, Its such a HUGE DPS Loose.

Here a Little Sample with Bug:
Fire Bold -> Fire Bold -> Fire Ball Mastery Buff -> Klicking Fire Ball -> Casts 2 Seconds -> Buff Lost
What Should Really happen is the fallowing Sample:
Fire Bold -> Fire Bold -> Fire Ball Mastery Buff -> Klicking Fire Ball -> INSTANT CAST -> Buff Lost

Yes, the bug with the instant cast is really annoying. It's a loss of DPS.

You could just delete this feature if you aren't going to fix it.

Are you using Fire Ball before the instant cast procs? Is the skill on cooldown? This would be why the instant cast does not work.

Offsetting this requires you to fire off another Fire Bolt to ensure that you have the time to use Fire Ball. Of course, not the most ideal way, but it's one of the short-term solutions (long term would require another implementation).
This also does occur when using Jupitel Thunder as a Sorceror.


If my assumption was wrong, ignore what I just said above.

I put skill points in Fire Bold for that purpose. That cost me hours of playing and now I must reroll to using Cold Bold. Sad Face!

I've never experienced this problem. Whenever I cast Fire Bolt I always click the next Fire Bolt as soon as the cast bar disappears so it queues up and casts as soon as possible, so if Fire Ball Mastery were to proc on the first Fire Bolt. which doesn't show up till the next Fire Bolt starts casting anyway, I'll wait till the cast bar of the second Fire Bolt to disappear before I cast my instant cast Fire Ball. It might be a slight loss in overall dps if everything were working correctly because if the second Fire Bolt were to proc the mastery, I'd miss it, but the time it takes for the proc to show that it did proc you lose time you could be casting. My problem is Fire Ball Mastery doesn't seem to proc 20% of the time at rank 3, it seems like it only procs about 13% of the time like it were rank 2, but maybe I'm just imagining things.

Reading your Text, youre Clearly saying that u DID Experience this Problem.
U just have a Rotation where it doesnt medders that much.
As u said ureself u feel like its only 13% Thats exactly becouse of the Bug, that forces u to play the Rotation u mentioned.
So Next time dont start your Text with "I've never experienced this problem."...

It's not the bug that forces me to play that rotation because I've never had that bug happen to me. I use that rotation because the Fire Bolt animation needs to end, which takes forever, and by end I mean the Fire Bolt itself needs ot hit the target on screen, which is long past the point you can cast again, register a hit, then register the proc, then show the proc has registered, so it'd be a loss of dps to wait after every Fire Bolt to see if it procs, anyway. The way it should be is the game rolls for the proc as soon as the cast ends, not the animation, then this 'bug' of yours would be fixed and Wizard dps probably wouldn't be as low as it is. They could also speed up the Fire Bolt animation which is ridiculously long anyway.

HawkPeft beat me to it, but yes, that is the gist of it. The Fire Ball Mastery proc occurs only when the Fire Bolt that activates it actually hits the opponent. So if you're immediately recasting Fire Ball in your cycle, the cast may start before the proc registers.

Yep that is right, they need to change the Speed of the Fire Bold Projectile, so it can HIT before the Glocal Cooldown ends!
That would be the solution and everybody is happy.

I feel like part of that might be because Fire Bolt can miss, however I don't know if Fire Ball Mastery can proc even on a Fire Bolt miss (I assume it doesn't, but correct me if I'm wrong). Even if the calculations for when the proc goes off occur at the end of the cast time, the player still isn't told if the Fire Bolt hits until the end of the animation. Now this may not be much of a deal at all, but assuming FBM doesn't proc on a Fire Bolt miss, it might appear a little weird to see the FBM proc go off before the player would otherwise be told that Fire Bolt hit its target.

Since Fire Ball Mastery procs when Fire Bolt hits and not when you use Fire Bolt, it seems like it's working as intended. I've never had this happen to me before.

Would be a nice QoL fix if it procced on cast and not on hit, but it's by all means not bad at all with how it is right now.

U Loose your Mastery Buff, of course before the Bufftime expires and THIS is definitely a BUG.
Read my Post Again. This needs to be Fixed!

Here a Little Sample with Bug:

(But becouse the Fire Ball didnt Instant Cast the Mastery Buff should not get LOST)

I main a Wizard yet I've never had this issue, maybe it's character specific?

Probably the best way to show it would be with video.

You don't need a video. Prokotra explained the bug well enough.

But maybe he should've add this:

Cast Fire Ball > Cast Fire Bolt (Fire Ball is flying, hits the enemy and grands the buff) = Fire Bolt instant Buff is gone because you casted Fire Bolt before you had the buff. You should be able to shoot another Firebolt as an instant cast and not loose the buff. (I'm not sure if i mixed fire bolt and ball here now xD)

It makes no sense to loose a buff which grants you an "instant cast" when you can't take advantage of it.

I realized that this bug also occurs at sorcerers.

"Jupitel Thunder Mastery".

Really, you should change the timing for the masteries to proc or just remove it completely. It's a waste to skill the masteries if they don't even work properly.

I've had this same issue :o! I thought it was only me, or that I was casting it too fast but lately it's been happening a LOT more. Probably about 1 in every 4 times I get the proc it actually works as instant cast :<

Mine happens with jupitel thunder mastery. It's the same concept though. Supposed to proc an instant cast jupitel thunder when using cold bolt but half the time now, I get the buff, cast jupitel, and end up sitting there for the full 2 seconds cast of jupitel( the proc buff lasts 10 seconds, so even if it wasn't used, it should still be there) but after I complete the cast, it acts like that was the instant cast and the buff poofs.
