There's a really dumb design decision here. And no, I'm not talking about adding stats to costumes. Why are stats tied to tuxedo/wedding dress specifically?

The whole point in having costumes is to be able to wear something that differentiates you from the typical gear EVERYONE ELSE is going to be wearing. Costumes are supposed to be the stat agnostic bit that you put on to express yourself. By having one piece of gear, you are forcing min/max players into all looking the same, which defeats the purpose of having costumes in the first place.

Why not have a cash shop item that can come from the costume boxes that is a consumable ex. "Shimmering Valkyrie Thread" that drops at the same rate as Tuxedo/Wedding dress, but can be applied to any costume that doesn't have stat boosts? The end result is that not only will people still spend the same amount of money trying to get the consumable, but they potentially will spend the money again when new costumes that they prefer come out.

Players get to look like they want, WP gets more money, no change in balance (except raids and WoE won't look like a wedding convention). Seems like a win/win all around to me.

For some reason I can't help but think in RO1 when you got married being in the tux/dress gave bonus stats. I may be wrong, but that's possibly why.

To an extent I understand why they did it, but at the end of the day +10 IS pretty negligible. Sure it's a minmaxers dream and if you want to be the best of the best of the best with honours you'll spend til its yours, but it's not THAT great.

A shame too, since I'd love a wedding dress for my toon, regardless of stat boost.

I agree completely. Unfortunately it's too late. Some of said Min/Maxers have surely already spent a ton of money getting the wedding costumes because of that stats. If they change the system now they'd probably loose their best customers.

FWIW, Costumes can be turned off, and Job outfits can be worn. Thus min/maxers looking for stats only don't HAVE to run around in visible wedding gear... But it does render them unlikely to wear any other costume, thus making the costume system moot for that audience.

When you got married in RO1 you were not even able to use any skills or attack while having the tuxedo/wedding dress sprite active, so no, I'm pretty sure they did not give bonus stats.

Still easy to fix. Rename display name "Vintage Wedding Dress"/"Vintage Tuxedo". Add NPC "Vintage Extraction Seamstress" or whatever. Have her accept only those 2 items and break them down into the thread + no stat Wedding Dress/Tuxedo. Stop offering the stat version of Wedding Dress/Tuxedo in box, only offer no stat version. This has an added benefit for original players in that they get a "special" name version of the costume for buying it before this change went into place, if they choose to keep it instead of breaking it down.

Hmm, IMO the best thing to do is, WP give stats to all the costumes in Cash Shop. Same stat boost as wedding Dress/tuxedo has. and all in-game costumes, well IDK, maybe half or a quarter of the stats they give?Or even just hit/vigor/haste/dodge/parry.

That makes them lose money, though. They want the "rare but better" option so people gamble on getting it. My suggestion is to help them keep making the same or more money AND give players more flexibility in their costumes by making the stat boost a separate, consumable box reward.

I'm not sure if they'll lose money on having Different costumes with the same stat boost. Getting the same stat boost is the sole reason why people get tux/wed.dress. So if there's a variety of costumes to choose from w/o loosing your precious stats, then they'll make more money out of it. Me my self would want a costume that'll give me more benefit than just being "Unique". Well regarding the costumes with some stats that will be acquired in-game, yep its a bad news for them so probably, they won't make that. :p_sleep:
