i think you have an unrealistic idea of how this game functions:
Open recruiting guilds:
full of low level alts that never log on after a couple weeks, inactives, afks. never more then 3-4 people on at a time. end up dying before they even began
Active guilds:
Only recruiting lvl 140+ players preferably in full gear and most of the time looking for pawns for WoE. Even the non-WOE guilds have insanely high standards unless youre a friend of someone in the guild (thats how i got into the guild im in now). nobody wants new players because they take up precious guild capacity (a huge fault on gravities part for not raising the guild invite limit) and have to get geared up to be able to contribute
Guild Forums:
do i even need to say anything? just take a look lol
but i will agree with you. if you are fortunate enough to finally find your way into a decent guild (which most newbies never do or spend months trying to do), then they can help you out tremendously
You always see the worst sides of everything. There are plenty of active, good guilds who recruit any levels, help them train, offer variety of help and such. If you could see the good side of things, you probably wouldn't complain so much.
