I read that people like use LoR > Wind arms > cold bolt till proc > earth arms

that seems like such a pain in the ass to do so is it necessary or should I be like

Keep earth arms on > LoR > JT > spear > heals > LoR

something like that or what?

You should, you really should.

Hybrid Sorcerers are in-demand class now because of its capability to deal burst damage, and healing in the same time.
I'm not saying that Sorcerer is a jack-of-all-trades class, imo I prefer it to be called a versatile class because a Sorc can be dangerous at dealing damage while having a scary healing skills (+ Resu).

What I usually did to prepare my Earth Arms was using LoR first while in Wind Arms. Earth Arms affects the amount of heal generated by LoR even when tjhe LoR is still ongoing.

For Deluge, it is another story. You should use Earth Arms before casting it because the effect will not change while LoR's being activated.

Could you give me a rotation and do you mean like using LoR after earth arm proc or being in wind arms > LoR > Earth arms?

I'd really like to get used to using a certain rotation or get used to switching while I still have a chance in easy dungeons so that I don't struggle in the harder ones. What I was doing before was like

Earth arms > LoR > Wind arms > Cold bolt till proc > Earth arms > LoR > use skills/cold bolt if possible

Also atm I am level 38 with max Earth arms, earth shield, JT. What do you suggest I level next? I am thinking Varetyr spear because I don't know if I'll even need deluge till higher level raids

Just go Wind Seal when you're actually hitting the bosses. Heck care about Earth Seal since the priest will be healing you guys and renovatio once in a while. With at least 20% haste rate increment and mediocre LOR, you'll do more than fine by giving them some form of healing, and ensuring you are able to dish out near to maximum DPS while you're at it.

Wind Seal all the way = Spam Cold Bolt till proc, etc. Every 9s or so (vigor rate), cast Land of Recovery. Still heals them.

Only go Earth Seal when the boss is summoning monsters, then change to Earth Seal. Most people tend to treat LOR as an necessity, but if you reached to a certain level in sorcerers, you'll find that you don't really need to LOR at all times, depending on circumstances.

Also, a protip. If the boss starts to summon its deadly AOE, deluge immediately if you're in Wind Seal. After doing that stupidly long animation, immediately spam your Earth Seal (like when you do finish that rain dance, and when your character swings the staff and is finally done). Because during that split second after your animation is done and when deluge finally appears... the seal buff isn't applied onto the deluge yet. It applies only when you see your deluge animation and the deluge buff. So basically, deluge > earth seal spam like crazy to attain deluge with earth seal effect. Any split second later, you'll find your deluge not under earth seal addon.

Alright thank you

dont know why i didnt think of it on summons

I actually have LoR and every sorc skill right now it just doesn't seem like it scales very good so I am putting it off until later levels or is that a bad idea?

Oh me gusta very smart. Also was wondering when to use deluge so very helpful. Is there a spot i should be standing like by the tank or something? I know I can cast LoR onto them from range but I don't believe I can do that with deluge

Well, if you are playing with a Priest, you can dump it off until later levels.
But if none of your friends are playing Priest or you're playing solo, I really think you should max it as soon as possible for more efficient grinding and to make yourself a room in parties
