You have 100% chance to get one of the items.

If you remove an item after Reinforcing it, you still have 100%, but the chances are now spread out over less items giving them a higher chance.

Since my post was randomly deleted again (that you calanor?) when it was ON TOPIC and ASKING A QUESTION RELEVANT TO THE THREAD, lets try this AGAIN, shall we?

Sakana, when we remove an item from the list (place it on exclusion), do the percentages of the other items rise proportionately?

In other words, when, say, 1k carus has .1% chance, and I remove 5 other items (for arguments sake, the 5 highest chance items), do I now have 20% to get the 1k carus and 20% for the other 4 items, or is it proportional (in other words, do I have .3125% chance of the 1k carus in this situation?)?.

The percentage stays proportional but is distributed between less items, so it's slightly higher.

... it's kind of complicated and i'm still trying to come up with an example

+10 #3 box with only 1000x carus basic xeons left = 100% chance to get 1k Carus Basic Xeons?

yes

But if the box was only +9, and you have a chance between the .1% item and the .4% item, then the actual chances are 20% to get the .1 item and 80% to get the .4 item.

Think of it this way, each item takes up a certain amount of slots on a table. % determine how many slots, whenever you open a box its a random roll on this table. When you exclude an item and then open the box, if the drop would have been the item that has been excluded, it rolls again on the same table until it drops an item which has not been excluded, hence improving your chances at getting what you want.

True, much easier to visualize it as a matrix.

Each time you remove an item of the list by reinforcing the box, it increase the % of all other items.

So if you +9 a box and all it's left is 1k carus basics and 600 SvS points coupon

You'll have 20% chance to get 1k carus basics and 80% chance to get 600 SvS points coupon.

If you +10 the box and all is left is 1k Carus Basic Xeons, you'll have 100% chance to get 1k Carus Basic Xeons when you'll reduce the box.

Not really, the chance to reinforce the box to +10 probably will be very low: from 0 to +1 is alredy 90%. Yes, the box cant break while your reinforce it, and i guess that cant go down in reinforce grade neither, so, is a matter of money.

Think of this as a square spreadsheet with 100 total slots (10 by 10). Put the items in the amount of slots that their % indicates (25% = 25 slots). Now, when you reinforce an item, color in/cross out the squares filled by it (reinforce + 1, remove the megaphones, cross out all 25 megaphone slots on the spreadsheet). Roll a die (or generate a random number) of 0-99 (0 is slot 1, 99 is slot 100, just how it works with computers); if you land on a square that you blanked out by removing the item, roll again, else this is what you get. Git it now?

So, if the boxes can be reinforced, but can't break, can we also use +10% chance coupons on them in reinforcement? So that that 10% chance at level 9-10 is actually 30%, and in that case, would this weekend's reinforcement event also affect the box's chance of reinforcement?

Naw; the boxes reinforcement system =/= gears reinforcement system.

You can't use coupons and the 20% event won't work on them.
