Is there any place better than OD2?

If you're willing to actively level, what you can do depends on the type of homun S.

Until you get mist, you either afk level slowly, or have it kill things with needle while you manage it somewhere. That doesn't work so well due to the sp cost of needle though.

Is it normal for it to take 10 hours of afk leveling to get a level at 99?
No, but it's not far off with an amistr base. Amistr base is really rough until you get needle, and even then, needle's not an ideal attack skill (SP use is brutal - and while sera gets good SP mod, it'll take you a while of being a sera before the SP stops sucking (since now you've just got amistr SP).
Observe the homun carefully and make sure the settings are optimal. See what it's spending it's time doing. Make sure you have homun moving at max speed (cart boosted, or speed pot before summon if you don't have boost on that gen yet), and make sure opportunistic targeting is enabled.

I can't seem to exceed 300k per hour.

how many hours a day did you lvl ur homun? on eggs or on ants?leveled my homun S at ant hell 99-106 last week and 106-115 since last maintenace. i cant even get 1 level from OD1/OD2, so for me anthell is still faster

uh i'm really interest too...
actually i got 1 genetic lv 100 whit a Sera lv 101 ( vanil base)
and got a biochemyst 99 whit a vanil 99( still need to get him loyal) and go to be an Eira
well.. i would like try to lv fast then at last to lv 10/5 to pick the first skill... ofc check also for the Aoe and let them grow faster...
for afk... maybe... can't we try to organize some afk spot in better maps? like TI but, check the spotlight for some good map and move more as a group...
other option is try to ask GM to set a third map for Humunculus S, and BAN them from ant hell and OD ( still free soo much stupid lv my homunculus in those 2 maps... looking for something better) like raise the number of mob in the Metalling/Porcelio map maybe would be a good map for us?

You're in OD2 until AT LEAST when you get your first homun S skill (exception - filirs moonlight is good enough for attended leveling on better maps), and even then, you're going to need be moving it around and stuff. We've gone through all the maps that are remotely promising - the problem is that OD2 is so perfect for us - the high density, the looters, the fast moving monsters... it's just like they designed it just for alchemists. Noplace else even comes close to being able to maintain a spawn.
The best we ever were able to AFK on was TI surface, and it didn't work with freshly changed homun S - the monsters tore 10x homun S's to ribbons (i think my 11x sera even had trouble), and required a lot of people there with high level homun with carefully optimized AI settings.
