THISHey Guys,
I've got a problem. Every time when I try to join a dungeon it doesn't work. Everything disappear, I mean all the NPCs, Player, Monster everything except my Character and the naked map. I can move around but i dont get the loading screen, which brings me into the dungeon. And I can't logout or close the Game. Only TaskManager helps. After reloding the Game i can join the dungeon but this is really annoying.
Has somebody the same Problem and can help me? ^^

It is not only a pain in the neck, but also a big embarrassment to the player whenever he/she is in a party.
I was using my priest. I need to heal D8. It was a bit laggy with mobs in Izlude dungeon, it was already a really really really big pain. but THEN! when we reached the big crab boss, winter came and freezes my game.
I was soooo embarrassed! My party mates were disappointed, especially one of them, I let them dowm... ehem.. windows 8 let them down... but one of my party mates was REALLY REALLY COOL! I told them I won't mind quiting the party so they can get a better healer, however, how surprised was I when that kind person said, let's give it a [another] try. that kind person was comforting me, the party's disappointment T-T I cried tears of happiness. so understanding. Bless thy soul and become successful, humble person.
Oh yeah, I borrowed my sister's laptop to try and play with it. It was Windows Vista. I logged on with both laptops. whenever I make them enter a dungeon, the VIsta loads normally, but Win 8 freezes. Can't change channel. Can't exit game. Can't log out.
Just a question, sorry, just wondering if anyone know how to downgrade Win 8 to Win 7 without an installer?
I just couldn't find WIn 7 when I looked. There was only WIn 8

hmm i have win 8 x64 Nividia GTX 660 and intel i5 3570k i dont experience this at all game runs fine. This may have been mentioned before but are you guys running the game from a widget in win 8 metro or off the desktop?
do you happen to be playing on a Surface Pro? THAT"S SO AWESOME!
I am running the game from a desktop short cut, is that not good perhaps?
I am playing on a 3 year old laptop, which was originally a win 7, intel core i3. it crashed and lost important .dll files, so I went to online stores where I am from and was thinking of buying Win 7. BUT THERE WAS NONE! T-T Only Win 8
annoying trying to enter the colisseum with this bug ;_;
You can say that again!

Actually I am running it off a desktop as well. Have you tried running the game as administrator. Also are you saying that Windows 8 lost .dll files? If so there should be a restore point to fix that or if you have the win8 disc that should fix it.do you happen to be playing on a Surface Pro? THAT"S SO AWESOME!

I haven't tried running it as an administrator yet, but I will try that, thanks! Nah, it was the windows 7 that lost .dll files :9
I bought Windows 8 because I couldn't find any Windows 7 for sale D:

sorry for double post
Compatibility mode will not work because HackShield reverts the executable to run as normal. If anything it probably IS HackShield that is causing the disconnection on area transitions.
It's thanks to you! and to other people who posted on the forum, who said that client(the one we click to launch the game, not the actual launcher in the folder) and hackshield are two different programs that run when we play.
So I was like changing the compatibility of my client to Windows Xp service pack 3, but I left Hackshield as it is. And I thought, what if I change the compatibility of the hackshield as well? so I changed it's compatibility to WIndows Xp Service Pack 3 as well.
TADA!!!
I can now smoothly enter a dungeon, I can now change channels like crazy, 8[) so happy
try it guys and tell us what happens!!
EDIT:::::::::::::::::::
After about a minute, it happened again

1. Win8 x64
2. After the Colo patch (before the patch there were no issues)
3. After 5-10 minutes logged in the bugg occures (before this you can do everything)
4. Cant Switch channels after 5-10 minutes (ingame time)
5. Cant enter dungeons after 5-10 minutes (ingame time)
6. Cant enter colo after 5-10 minutes (ingame time)
So something is wrong in the latest Patch (18-19)
Also i see that Steam tells me that i miss 59 files. The system downloads the files again and the game will be patched from 17 to 19. After the patch is succesfully patched again, i check it with steam again and it just tell me again that i miss 59 files. (steam will do the same thing again)
Write permissions are set ok. Exclusions in Windows Defender and Virus/internet protection are set. Compatibility mode is set correct (tryd normal setting,winxpsp3,win7) Nothing works.
It look like sometimes that i hang in a massive lagg.
Please solve this issue on a short term.
I hope lots of people will try to fix this problem also at home. Soon Win8.1 will be released (Beta 26jun2013, RTM Autum) more people will go to Win8 this year so more people will experience this problem then.
Hope this post can shine some light on the case.
Greets,
The Pin Man

Valve doesn't support third-party patch files not received via steam. Forsaken World does this too after patching via the launcher, as does Defiance. So that's normal.

Actually, it's not after logging in, and thus not "ingame time"
-> Let your game sit at the login screen for 15 minutes, then try to log in. It will tell you the servers are down.
