Is it just because they're not core classes?

Non-trans 3rd jobs can wear transcendent gear.
Before K/O came out, I thought expanded classes would be able to wear trans gear when they hit level 100 (Same as non-trans 3rds), but only core classes can wear trans gear.

Considering most expanded classes are considered underpowered, I don't think it's a balance issue.
In fact, wouldn't it give them a much needed buff?

Also, expanded 99s have the transcendent 99 aura.

The expanded classes were supposed to get extra class advancements, like Kagerou and Oboro, but those don't seem to ever come. iRO has always been behind kRO, so we are behind in updates. It would make sense for at least classes like Kagerou and Oboro, that may or may not come, to be able to wear the trans-gears. But logic doesn't seem to be with the iRO mechanics..

Trans gear actually means the requirement is "above 2nd job" which all 3rd jobs are.

K/O however are 2md job just like Knight/Priest/etc.

kRO got some better gear designed for 3rd jobs that allowed K/O to equip them (such as enhanced variants)

BTW for WoE and PvP Battleground, KVM and Siege gears is quite sufficient to be competent vs Trans only gears.
