Should i trans once i hit job 40 or get it up to 50 and then change? I dunno if ill be under some sort of a let down later as i think i dont need a few skills on the merchant skill tree like over price.

you get to skip a portion of the alchemist test if you go job 50. also go job 50 if you dont already have a vendor for making money with. also go job 50 if you have alot of money already, because mammonite is great for leveling with(but costly).

As alchemist, don't bother.
As biochem, definitely job 50. I severely regret not going j50 on one of my genetics, and every time I've reset my skills, i've been reminded of how I screwed up my main character and have to move items to another account if I want full OC.

eh you can always use genetic points on biochem/merchant spells. theres so few actually viable genetic spells that you can easily waste the points. aside from all the cart spells, all you really need is bomb throw and create bomb (unless you have access to a brewer or just buy them). fire expansion is cool, but far from being a needed spell. and everything else is just for PVP use, which then you WOULD need job 50 for sure on the alchemist
