The quest requires me to get 1 item and I killed so many pecos pecos and still no drop.

You mean capture the peco peco? Equip the hammer they give you and hit the monster. I don't think you have to get the killing blow on it with the hammer.

No, you have to get the killing blow with the hammer. I've already tested it.

If the quest still doesn't work for you, abandon it and change channels. Then accept it again and equip the hammer.

You actually don't have to get the killing blow with it. It has a normal quest item drop chance so sometimes it wont drop, so whack it with the hammer a few times then kill it.

Nope. Don't have to get killing blow with hammer. Well for some of them you don't. There are more of those crappy quests later on. I can smack the mob and then switch to my ranger bow to kill him and still get the quest drop.

I do this too, for all the capture quests, it's just much more satisfying getting the killing blow with that hammer

And I did that because I didn't know I could do only the killing blow or I could just change weapon after hitting mallet and it would still drop quest item.

Also, this quest says you need to kill Green Peco. The second time I was doing the quest, I hammered a lot of Green Pecos but there was no quest item drop. Then I killed a Green Peco baby and got the quest item...

AFAIK, you just need the hammer equipped to get quest drops on capture quests.

On topic, it may have been that you were killing the wrong monster. You're supposed to be killing the Green Peco Babies on that quest.

Yes you have to quest hammer a green peco baby. The quest desc is wrong.

Those quests don't give you a hammer, therefore you don't need one.

There's a quest in Payon that gives you a hammer to use but I didn't even realize it until I had already turned in the quest that used it (obviously I don't remember which quest it was since I didn't realize I had the hammer).

the English description for the quest is so atrocious. I spent 30 minutes using the mallet to kill Peco Pecos only to find out that you have to actually kill the Peco Peco Baby's to get the quest item.

Whenever I did this qust, it said to capture Green Peco Pecco Bebes, which everyone should know that Bebe and Baby are the same thing.
