Pretty much what the title says. I'm currently a lvl 25 warrior that just class changed and I'm a bit hesitating about my future in this game after not only reading topics from foreign servers about the matter but also trying to find a party for Izlude Cave (before job changing).

Warriors seem to get rejected a lot when it comes to dungeon partying. I was already expecting this to some extent, but I'd like to know what builds you guys recommend if I do want to get in parties (and, if possible, any tips you can share about how to be good at it).

I'm considering a tank or off-tank build, but I've got the feeling that I'll just be laughed at when I claim to be a tanker for a party. Should I just give up doing my dungeon quests altogether? Is a guild my only option?

I'd also like to maintain a bit of efficiency in solo leveling, but that's not a big issue for me. I'm well used to the game and can call friends to help at times.

I'm a 50 Warrior. Warriors are very good off tanks and can tank just as well as a Knight. Obviously, they're both Swordsman classes and have similar equipment.. in the end it just really depends on the skills and utility of those skills. Knights are good because they have Shield Fortress and consistent damage soaking skills. Warriors can handle adds that attack the party because unlike the Knight, they can move while using Brandish Storm and Knights can't move while using Grand Cross or Shield Fortress.

The game hasn't even been out for a year yet. Not even for SeaRO. I would take what players say with a grain of salt. In all my MMO experiences.. people who claim class A or class B or build A or build B is the best usually turns out to be completely wrong a year later. :/

I say prove them wrong :heh: Just turned my tank Warrior 50 yesterday and my dungeon runs have been perfectly fine. Sure, occasionally someone would ask "who's tank?" when clearly there is no other tank class except your Warrior, and it might get a bit discouraging. Just do your role well, keep mobs off your Priest, use your cooldown defensive buffs during boss rage (be sure to get at least 4/5 Endure for HoDP) and your party will see you in a new light.

Never! and i say never! think you'll be laughed at when you claim to be a tank warrior :3! (at least until you get to raids) i can't tell you how many times i've been told that i won't be able to tank in a dungeon at first and in the end everyone goes like "Oh my god best party ever!" as they add me into their FL and call me to tank for them later on,even up to RHD i see myself being called by people i might have met in payon dung and that's awesome, one thing though, once you're lvl 50 your tanking job is pretty much over,as i said before, at least in raids (PvE arena,Bapho,Etc..) so i really reccomend you go offtank build from lvl 25,you still won't have problems tanking all the way to 50 and you'll be set once you're there :3! with the help of Defender,Tension Relax,Parry and Endure you're good to go!

Thanks for your encouraging replies! So it seems that offtank is the way to go. I'm usually a bit stubborn when it comes to picking between offensive/defensive skills, but I'll take the hint for once. After all, picking up a melee class is by itself a new challenge for me.

Sadly I can't read Korean to see how the folks in the mother-server handle things with their experience... But this is about an entire server's mentality.

Hopefully I'll end up being one of those players who can prove what a Warrior's truly worth. When I get accepted into a party, that is. But I'll keep trying. :ok:

...Tips and builds are of course still more than welcome :3

Of the few Warrior tanks I've had so far (like, 2, I think), I noticed their HP drops faster than the other tanks. It's still do-able, but I personally wouldn't dare to tank on my own Warrior unless I'm over-leveled for the dungeon.

Note that you will start getting accessories at 40, and a lot of the accessories since 40 has dodge and parry but no VIT, so accessories will cover your mitigation and avoidance. If you really want to tank on your Warrior, I suggest carding VIT.

Welcome to the ranks of Warrior my friend! I think its always best to find yourself a guild when it comes to party making, not only will they help you level but you can show them all that a warrior is a great tank. Sadly there are a lot of people that think Warriors are terrible so its up to us to prove them wrong!

As for tips? Hrm Well Warriors are pretty damn good at soloing, I would get Tension Relax at max ASAP, you need it anyway and it helps you solo. Also I would say look at the guides in this section, they are all really well done. Most of all though (and I know its lame) "Have fun with it"I love playing warrior, and I've tried other classes but none of them really click (ESPECIALLY mage classes, I just cant do it.) so dont let what people say get ya down. If you wanna be a warrior be the war-iest warrior you can!

I'm gonna agree with the posts above. Off tank is definitely the way to go because warriors are really good Off Tanks (probably the best due to our survival skills and aoe) and you can main tank dungeons too. But it is more important than ever to run dungeons and get as much blue gear as possible, at least in my experience. I found my hp and defense lacking so I wanted as much gear as possible to make me a viable tank. And I would tend to wait a few levels before MTing dungeon. Like for HoDP I would go as off tank at lvl 40-41, but would MT at lvl 42 and 43.
