My faith and respect towards Gravity and Warpportal is not fully recovered, however I will give this game one more try. I don't hate the game itself (although it's buggy), which is probably the same for everybody else. Why would we play this if we hated it? I love this game mostly because I've been a Ragnarok Online lover since I was first introduced into the world of internet. RO was my first MMORPG, and I am glad that it is still the MMORPG I play. And I want it to be the MMORPG I will play, forever. But if something like what happened last night comes out of Gravity/Warpportal's brain again... I'm out for real. I cannot continue playing a game that constantly derps at its players; there are many more similar and better games out there, you know. I'm playing RO2 just because it's RO, not for any other reason to be honest.
I think the decision to undo the *cough* stupid *cough cough* part of the patch was wise enough.
I am not an active forum poster, so if you ever see me here again... it's probably when Gravity has made another mistake.
Let's hope that never happens.
Have a nice day RO2 forum.

Anybody know where I can find out all the things that happened? I've been gone for a week or two and I have no idea what happened. I just heard. I admit I haven't read this topic yet, but the first page didn't seem to explain what changes were made that caused an uproar. And something about a founder title? *starts trying to find out whats up by reading around*
This is the patch note for the patch everyone's talking about.
http://forums.warppo...tch-notes-6513/
Warpportal decided to remove stats from Tuxedo and Wedding Dress, to which everybody said it's a total scam. People farmed or bought that thing FOR the stats, you know.
Secondly, they decided to nerf the Founder Title stats to oblivion, which was... a total mistake. Everybody worked hard to level their chars to lvl. 30, and they launched an AFK event to get even more players, then they tried to nerf it as soon as it came out. Yeah, the whole RO2 community went on fire last night.
But now, they decided to not implement those changes, at least for now. So I hope everybody's happy now.
I am happy, at least.

One thing I would like to clarify to all fans is that we never tried to deceive our fans.
Founders title stat was supposed to be similar the other 25-30lv Khara titles stats but somehow stat was set wrong and it was klisted and displayed wrong stat in the Khara title list.(Which clearly mislead fans to believe +30 stat was original plan for Founders title.)
Costumes also didn't have any proper information about dev team's original design which we completely overlooked.
We may make mistakes but we will never cheat.
Dev team is working hard days and nights to add more things and fixes and I would like to get all the blames as operator of service. I fully admit that we should have spotted the mistakes earlier but at the same time, would like to ask you a kind understanding about the situation which I think that it might have been little tough for RO2 service team since they've been really busy to prepare all the things for launch.(Still this cannot be any excuse but Heimdallr, community managers and GMs have been putting more than they could to meet the schedule.)
I really appreciate all of your comments and these are the source we can stand up again when we fall!
Sincerely,
Jay Choi on behalf of Warpportal.com

First off, I'd like to accept your apology. I'd also like to provide my feedback on the title.Founders title stat was supposed to be similar the other 25-30lv Khara titles stats but somehow stat was set wrong and it was klisted and displayed wrong stat in the Khara title list.(Which clearly mislead fans to believe +30 stat was original plan for Founders title.)
I believe in the very first QnA session with Heimdallr, He had stated something along the lines that the goal of the quest/styoryline system was to move players along to 50 as quickly as possible, as 80% of all planned future content is geared towards those who are level 50.
As I only plan to make one or two characters, I hope for future content and events to be geared toward my level bracket. If you truly have to be level 50 to enjoy the game that will come, Things like a level 30 title are pointless for some people.
(I, on the other hand, enjoy collecting titles. A lot of people out there wouldnt have wasted their time if they knew the intention was for the title to have level 30 stats.)
It's a real pleasure that you decided to follow up your apology with responses to this forum post. When game providers, producers, developers provide a layer of transparency such as this, it gives me confidence in their game as a player.
Not that I am hoping for another catastrophe to happen, but I hope to see your input on more issues and suggestions in the future.
Thank you for listening.

Make sure to check your planned events twice to avoid these kind of messes in the future.
Aside from that, keep up the more or less good work and for god's sake tend to some of the bugs ingame faster.
Cash costumes and the likes are not gonna improve the longevity of this game... a proper functioning and fun game will.

Kudos to you for showing up here and talking to your player base, is something you dont see very often and we really appreciate it. Would like to ask, if possible that your team fix some of the issues previously mentioned, is annoying to see the abuse in colo with scrolls, people shooting thru walls or running behind a wall which is pretty annoying.
Not only that, but people abuse of pots and buff before they enter colo and shouldnt be like that, make it so EVERY buff wears upon entering to avoid people abusing the system.
Also would like to suggest a change on the items you can obtain from the boxes you get from colo, although mallets and exp scrolls are good, some of the "prizes" are quite lame, why not giving us more halo, shades and such from these boxes? would hit colo more often if i could get more shades or a chance for a temp costume.

i remember them saying this on the vid interview (yes i watched it... )just would like tosee some more leading less following. Also would like you, as the developers and forerunners of this mmo (welll hopefully in the future) to consider the perspective of the community but at the same time not playing to our every whims/moans/groans/complaints. But there shouldbe heavier attention on the game breaking issues and if you needed or wanted to im sure we could contribute (if you have seen community fixes for most mmos youd see that we are generally much more efficient, no offense but its true considering the amount of man power and resources on our end)As far as I know, NA RO2 will be the basis of international version including kRO2 in the near future which means we have opportunity to make it right this time.
It is only possible with your support.

+1 to this.
Big picture updates are what this game needs the most. Significant bug fixes, more end-game content and more PVP options (that are balanced) are three of the bigger picture updates that will drive this games success. The more the focus there is on fixing the petty things (aka the usual churn of community moans and groans about stuff that is really not that significant), the less focus there is on the bigger picture issues which will be the saving grace for the game.

So confused. I logged in. The game is there. My character is there. Am I missing something?
copying and pasting from another thread I posted in, but there was a lot of rage going on the forums on June 4th over the patch notes:
I'm guessing you guys missed all the rage that went on over the patch notes last night
(these are just some threads about it):
http://forums.warppo...tch-notes-6513/
http://forums.warppo...r-title-change/
http://forums.warppo...agnarok-2-fans/
And my last post before 30 minute nap shower and back to office.
Title item: will get a level restriction of 40. The title itself will keep stats you all saw in the window. So consume the title item NOW to avoid the lvl restriction.
The costumes, will remain as is permanently.
In the end we made a mistake in oversight weeks ago, and we are doing all we can now to make it right.
Basically, the next patch notes noted that tuxedo, wedding dress, and recruit would lose their stats and that the founder title would be nerfed. but after all the threads about it on the forums, the GMs changed it so that the costumes would keep the stats and the founder title would still have the same stats, but a lvl 40 restriction would be added to it.
It was pretty crazy and even the VP of Gravity Interactive came onto the forum to post in the "A Message to All The Ragnarok 2 Fans" thread

copying and pasting from another thread I posted in, but there was a lot of rage going on the forums on June 4th over the patch notes:
Wait wait wait a minute. People were crying this much over a costume outfit losing stats? My santa costume never had any stats - a costume is just that. Something to sit on top of your regular avarat to spruce things up. Just so this is painstakingly clear to everyone, nothing you get is going to be the be-all-and-end-all. Everything constantly gets recycled, changed, etc. New items and titles always come out, slightly better or somehow different, to constantly encourage people to play and, where possible, invest in the kafra shop. In two months there'll be a new items, in two years it'll be a different game.
By all means speak up when you disagree but there's no need to crucify anyone here. Be calm, play on.
Again, I have to say, I just logged in. My quests weren't deleted, my character is still there, I have my small amount of zeny and I just cracked a refreshing beverage. Day is good.

The wedding dress, tuxedo, and recruit outfits if I recall correctly came from the random boxes in the cash shop. There were several threads about people saying they sold their costumes in-game and wanted to get them back after the GMs later stated that the costumes would keep their stats. So there were more arguments going on in those threads as well. I just lurked the threads reading about what was going on most of the time it was happening.

I don't usually pay a lot of attention to official forums. I played WoW for 5 years, and LoL for about 2. If I had a dollar for every time someone said they were quitting on official forums, I'd be living it up on some private island in the Pacific with a nice house, a hammock, some palm trees, and a stash of Cold Ones. Or something like that. This is the first time I've seen people saying they were going to quit, and then seeing the affects in the game. It's thinner out there all of a sudden.
First off, I'd like to extend a hearty and heartfelt thanks to the folks at the company for owning up to this goof. Well done. If everyone did that, the world would be a much better place.
Next, I'd like to offer my 2 cents on how to proceed. For that, I've got a topic in the proposals and suggestions forum. Linky.
I enjoy this game and don't want to see it face plant.
I know this sounds corny and cheesy as hell, but we all really do have to work together to fix it: both the players and the people behind the scenes. And I think we can.

yes maybe they are busy doing to much
we still have events now where we do not know exactly the rewards, I fear the same thing happen, I believe both colosseum events running now we have not been told what we are getting its very vague.
im not trying to complain just inform, but It does need more planning and things shouldn't change all the time without a long enough warning, telling us right before an event ends what the reward is or making a change to an item right before maintenance is not nice for the players

The one thing that makes people angry is when you take back what people already have because of your mistake. It's one thing if you're changing things, like how founder suddenly becomes usable when you reach level 40. understandable. but some people actually PAY REAL MONEY to get costumes with stats, and fuse them. If we know you're going to take them away, we wouldn't waste our money for that!we only get around 1800z-2000z by end-game!and we have hard time getting money for repairs at end-game.
Poor translation was a thing of the past. I hope communications should become crystal clear. If you dont tell us something will happen, well, dont make it happen. Don't just rely on the in-game announcement. You got facebook page, website, forum. Imagine how -_-ty it is to wake up in the morning and found out my char isnt what it used to be? or some things im grinding is now worthless?or the stuff i sell because i dont find useful suddenly becomes one of the most important?or the stat we bought last night for nearly 1500z suddenly becomes obsolete? WTF?!!!
Changing things are acceptable!
Taking back stuff ARE NOT!
BTW, thank you for the attendance point and hourly reward. awesome move.

I'm for one, only playing this game because I'm fond with RO1. that game will forever live in my heart.
^This! 3D spores etc. I like to see the references to RO1.
My only qualm thus far is the one khara that requires x3 superlarge bags. No thanks! Only a handful of people will throw away 60$ on this because if it's not on that it's on some other game - MMO addicts. There should be a way (i.e. very long in game quest) to achieve this one. If there is Kafra Shop-based questing, it should be through exclusive dungeon keys to open certain areas etc.
