Hello, I joined Valkyrie server very recently, after the patch yesterday, actually. Been on RO hiatus for a while but a friend convinced me to come and try this out. So because I don't really want to mess this up, I would like to ask if anyone could give me any advice on building a merchant that I plan to take the alchemist route with. I'll probably be soloing mostly but partying from time to time and at the moment, PvP isn't really a concern for me.
What stats would be recommended for building this character? Any other relevant advice would be welcome also. Thanks!
Merchant to Alchemist Leveling.

Because of the renewal updates changes to all the game mechanics, we don't have a damned clue how to build a char. Take advantage of the cheap reset npc (present until nov5). Get as far as you can and figure as much out as you can to finalize build by then.

I'd suggest getting high DEX so you can hit things and then max Mammonite. STR will also be important for Mammonite, so put points into that - and Mammonite the monsters. Most of them die in one hit then.
Mammonite lvl 10 takes up 1.000 Zeny every hit, though, so make sure you have a lot of money.
For example, you could collect a lot of Strawberries (and other fruits like Grapes, Oranges, etc) and sell them to people buying them OR sell them yourself for 10.000 Zeny. (Most of the Strawberries get sold at that price range, so no need to feel bad for demanding 10k)

P.S: Can't tell you much about Jobchange Build yet, because I haven't found a good one or gotten there myself yet.
