There is an orange bar next to my name on the top left hand side of the screen.
What is that for?

When it's full you can summon your guardian (v), it takes about half an hour to charge I believe.

Guardians provide a 30 second movement speed and haste/vigor buff. The strength of the boosts depend on what level your guardian is. You can get the first quest in Prontera when you first visit it; just look for the quest marker on your map near your job expert. They will ask you to craft something.

The first quest appears when your job level is high enough (and 2nd and 3rd the same), but I'm not sure what levels you get the quest at again. I think for most people the quest will not be available yet actually the first time they visit prontera.

Quests can be taken when Job level are at 10,25, and 45 I think.

Fixed.Quests can be taken when Job level are at 10,30, and 50 I think.

your fix is incorrect, i'm job level 45/46 and just started the 3rd quest/stage of the guardianFixed.

about getting your guardian at profession lvl 10..been searching in prontera for this quest but cant seem to find it..my current profession is alchemist already lvl 12..
is there any update about this? newbie here

Your level is fine (it's still 10 minimum), you need to look at the lower right of the Prontera map to find the quest marker. All guardian quests are given by your profession's Expert NPC.
