rose is perfect just the way it is. keep up the good work gravity, i love it. here are my reaons to love rose (and ragnarok online too):
1. like previously stated, its casual! its casual for many many many reasons and people are less rediculous because of that fact. which brings me to my next point...
2. the community is friendly and fun! have you ever taken the time to play endgame material in games like wow? people are freaking INSANE! they are rude and mean and have no idea how to just have fun. then you join a guild and if your 15 mins late for a raid or something special, your guild kicked. then you have the hardcore trolls who take advantage of this and you might as well just leave them alone for your own sanity. hardcore rose players are not even to the same level as the average "serious" mmo players, in terms of insanity and unpersonability(its a word). i was scared to make my first few posts on the forums asking REALLY simple questions because in other games i would get flamed and ridiculed. i was pleasantly suprised when i got good, nice, friendly feedback (even from the people who are supposedly "trolls") i could go on about the average rose player and how great he/she is, but i will leave it at this. rose players are awesome XD
3. SIMPLICITY! i love rose because its simple (to a certain degree). if you know how to use a ratio you know how to build stats on characters, most of gravitys games work like this... 2:1 for simple classes, 3:2:1 for an advanced class. the big number is the stat on your class weapon, the little number is the stat that makes your big number work better, the middle number keeps you alive. skills are another example. you pick one aspect of the class you like, get it, and then once thats all maxed, add skills that make your interest more effective. most of gravity is like this. its not so simple that you get bored of it in two seconds, but its easy enough for a 12 year old to firmly grasp the concept (i would know, i started RO when i was 12, waaaaay back before merchants even existed)
4. graphics are suitable! i duno why graphics matter to some people in the first place... maybe thats why i find the graphics in this game suitable. in my opinion they are better than wow. wow has rough edges like crazy and most things look like they have an N64 polygon count. texturing just got buffed because of cataclism, but they didnt help the basic polygons. in rose you have better poly. MUCH better poly. texturing on characters doesnt get stretched out and distorted (wow fail). the only issue is that gravity likes its games cartoony. the texturing in rose is really good, its just that it was designed to be cartoony. here is a word that wow could take a lesson on when it comes to texturing... transparency... however they did do well with the new water texture. i cant compare rose to aion though.. that game gives me visual orgasm... one last point here! games with so much focus on graphics have a severe tendancy to lack gameplay.. thus my NOT playing any more aion.
5. speed. i duno about you guys, but i cant stand playing a game for more than a month and not being able to reach max level. i mean EVERY mmo on the planet is focused on endgame, and its both tedious and frustrating when your playing at maximum overdrive and it still takes you three months to even be close to a level that lets you ACTUALLY play with other people. not to mention the amount of leveling there is. gravity knows about people like me who like to progress each day. the last week i spent playing Dungeon Fighter Online i gained 2 levels. 2 god forsaken levels! i have yet to reach max level in rose (cause i been trying every class) but i am told that even at level 190 you can gain a couple levels a day. thats perfect for people like me who like to get results quickly. the ability to max out a new skill every day is pretty sweet! then you get to play with the "big boys" and have fun with the community (new focus on gearing up), and then maybe make that new char that you have interest in.
6. for the times you want a challenge, there is PvP. every game is hard in pvp!
yep, thats all i want to say for now.. cause i REALLY want to play this sweet game and stop typing. rose woot!!!!
