Also, does anyone know if they changed the forging formula in any way in renewal? I'm getting reports from people who used to forge ok previously, failing consistently now.

Anyone here actually manage to get decent success rates after going Mechanic? It seems like the skill is completely broken now once you job change. Shouldn't the game take in consideration what job level you got as a 2nd class and not your current job level? I mean why should my forge and upgrading rate DROP just because I decided to EVOLVE into the next job class. Thank god I moved up in the blacksmith rankings BEFORE renewal but it looks like I wont ever be making any more weapons for anyone anymore at this rate.

Black Smiths, rather Pure Forge or Battle, should just stay as a Black Smith/Master Smith, the Mechanic is a Useless POS, and you can't even use the non 3rd class skills.
They need to create a class downgrade stone just for the Mechanic, that's how crappy it is.

The fact that they didn't even think about the job 70 vs job 50 thing tells you how much they care about forging. If anything, it should ADD the 3rd job level to the 2nd.

Some of my guild mates felt that my rates are the same but I still think it's hard to say.
This was on a 100/1 mechanic btw.

My upgrading success seems to be better as a 105/15 mech than it was as a 99/70 MS.
