OK so

 

 

That's the image that I'm trying to use with a signature, however the uploader throws the following error

Unable to retrieve signature image dimensions, please try another image.

So then I tried breaking it into three seperate images

I then received this

So, what exactly is going on, obviously they work, or else those images wouldn't show up. Not only that but both scenarios are also under the max size requirements. So is it a bug with the uploader or what?

Previously they did a size limit up which apparently messed up most people's signatures. You can't add any image at all. They're looking into this now.

ok i'm glad it's no me. geeze, just try and update my signature and giving me a headache. took me a while alone just to try and log into the forums with google chrome. the damned log in windows doesn't pop up where you can see the damned thing.

Yeah, the last time they updated the forums, it messed up everyone's avatar. Now it seems this glitch has returned to affect signatures.

I've been looking at this for the last few days and not seeing why the boards suddenly are being so stubborn.

600 x 160px should be the maximum limitations, with a max size of 900kb

I have read up about this error before, it's something to do with the permissions of users somehow.

I had a signature before from playing ro1, wanted to update it to ro2, and now it won't let me. so i'm signatureless.

From google it looks like some of other IPB board forums are also reporting similar issues after the latest update...permissions should be ok, restrictions were upped, and there should be no restriction to editing sigs right now. Maybe it's a conflict with some image hosting services? Which ones are you guys using?

I tried ImageShack, TinyPic, Photobucket... and I got the same error (I've also tried with different image formats).

I always use png.  Is it because we are using google chrome? i should try firefox.

PNG has the option to save the resolution information embedded into the image, so I thought that was the issue, but I just tried with that and it gave me the error too.

 

Either imgur stripped that information off, or Warpportal messed up. Probably the latter.

Yep, same issue obviously xD I thought it was my image size before but its def under the limits of 600x120.

Meanwhile, the media tags can be used for embedding SWF files.

This is not a common practice anyway and it is often forbidden for signatures (but not here, yet). I can't, though. I don't have any program to export images as SWF and I'm not going to get one.

It has to be a Permissions error, something is being overlooked.
