Hello everyone,

how are you all? 

 

Nice to meet you. I'm Alaynna.

I have already failed miserably trying to post this and it ended up in the wrong forum. 

 

This is the first time I've ever tried to play a game like this so maybe I'm doing something wrong here since I'm not the brightest person around. I can't seem to install the game on my laptop and I'm really sick of trying. I've deleted the file and tried to re-install the game 6 to 7 times already and it just doesn't work. My laptop meets the system requirements as well... 

 

I've re-downloaded from the client page on both Google Chrome and Firefox but none of the installations work on my laptop. I've made sure to delete every single trace of the game on my laptop before I go back to download from the game client download page but it just doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me. 

 

It just always gets stuck when it says "Download media.cab" whilst the 883283kB is at 100% and finished downloading. 

Can anybody tell me how to get this game to work?

for whatever reason, it seems that your download is not completing.  

 

if anyone would be so kind as to upload a completed download version of the exe i think that would solve your problem. 

 

i would do it, but im at work.  i'll check back on this later and upload it myself if need be.

noxis : No progress at all.....I followed the instructions step by step and I still can't figure it out. My brother did manage to download and install the game but every time I attempt to open/start the game it doesn't work.

You managed to install it properly?

 

try to check your task manager if DS is working on background or just suddenly disappears.

If so.. DS might be having issues w/ your anti virus.. try to turn it off before you click start

MsNakita : I've tried to turn off my anti virus and with it turned on or off the results are the same. I'm not very sure what exactly I'm doing wrong. I've just un-installed the game and deleted all the downloaded files off my laptop. I'm trying to re-download everything and re-install the game, hopefully it works this time. I've done it multiple of times now and I'm just about ready to give up.

 

With my task manager, the program just suddenly disappears. It does not work in the background, all it does is pop up a small bow that says error in the middle of me trying to update ( the patches?) and tries to get me to send the problem to the server. When I do, it pops up with another small box that say it was unable to be sent to the server and the whole program closes.

MsNakita : Thank you for the help. I really hope it works soon and that I get to play soon. 

Its a bit irritating for a problem to drag out for so long, so if it still doesn't work in a few days then I'll just let it go and give up. I don't have the time to keep sulking and downloading/re-installing and etc.

I had the same problem downloading sometimes clearing the cache fixes it.

 

I use ccleaner  http://www.piriform....wnload/standard to empty my cache but if you don't want to download another program follow these's steps:

 

 

On your computer delete the browser history then close all browser windows

 

Next go to 

 

C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Temp

 

delete everything 

 

also since you might have several downloads on your system now

 

go to   C:\Users\yourusername\Downloads  delete everything

 

some files will give a message that they are in use select skip for those

 

next close any extra programs such as Yahoo messenger, skype...etc

 

 

retry downloading dragonsaga make sure to only have one browser window open.

They downloading part has been fixed, but he/she is unable to patch now. Sadly.

AleshaJorel : I've tried your method twice now, the patching still has a problem. 

 

ShazamO : Yes even with the patch ID fix....unless I've done something wrong again. I'm not the best at electronics sadly.

Those steps usually resolve the issue.

Maybe WP should look into updating the client at download section to the latest version. Most of the complains from new players are due to patching problems. There would be a lot of patch required to get to version 2.70 and sometimes they would get incomplete/corrupted patch which result in all the errors like hidden walls, unable to see costumes, combo errors, etc.

 

Just my 2cents.

ShazamO : Its ok don't worry. I'll try downloading and playing Dragon Saga again next time when the newer version is out and the problems are solved. I'll check back regularly to see how this is going and hopefully sometime soon in future I get to play, but for now I'm satisfied since I've tried my best and had so many amazing people helping me out.

StormHaven : Is the new patch updated and included as soon as you download from the direct link on the site? 
if it is I might give it another go but if it isn't then maybe next time. I'm a bit busy with everything right now.

The new patch is from ver2.70 to ver2.71. It is started when you start your game. It's not from the download section of WarpPortal.
