Tier 2 Bound Item system proposal
Very recently we have started the process of unbinding key high end set gear on Classic. As we originally stated when implementing these gear in bound status originally is that what we would eventually do is to unbind the gears and introduce a exchanger NPC that would allow you to trade in towards a slightly more powerful, but account bound version of the item. Adding enhancements that could be re-rolled would be a way of creating a zeny sink in the Classic economy, with players trying to get the enchantment they want before putting their cards in. This would also give a strong incentive to upgrade items, and the need to keep cycling in new gears for upgrading and to replace the Tier II bound versions would keep the demand for these gears high. Any adjustment of high end gear brings with it a lot of uncertainty over how it will affect the balance of the game, so we are listening for constructive suggestions to help us attain the goals stated above while enhancing your play experience.
This week is for comments before implementation, if you've already commented in the maintenance thread we already have that taken into account.
To trade in an item you have to have it at +8 refinement and talk to Wayland the Smith (prontera 148 191) for Accessories it will cost 500,000 zeny to turn in. When you turn in the item any card currently in the item will be returned to you when you receive the account bound version.
First thing we dispensed with was the Headgears. The bound version of these headgears all became a Top Middle item with 1-2 slots. This makes them equal to having the old headgear plus a slotted mid(built into the upper gear)

From user comments adding a slot to these gears would be a mistake that opens up a can of worms with a smaller can of worms inside that is already open sitting inside. Should we look at expanding the enchantment list?

When the item (not a headgear) is traded in you will receive one random enchantment on the item. Below is the enchantment list.

You will be able to reroll the enchantment you received as many times as you wish for 250,000 zeny each roll. The reroll has a small chance to remove all enchantments from the item. When you reroll the enchantment all refinements and cards will be lost, so it is best to get the enchantment you want before upgrading the item.
