I don't know if anyone else feel as I do, but why do they give out free food as gifts? There is no point in being a chef anymore. Market is so bad, since no one is really buying chef food. Are they going to be removing this free present anytime soon?

Free gifts make me feel awful about my job choice. Recovery food has been uniformly worthless across all levels and the buff food that was at least worth something as I leveled simultaneously became three times as hard to make and less than half as valuable. I made it to get to job 50 but I haven't eaten my own cooking since I was character level 39. All I have to look forward to is some day maybe providing tank food after I get a lot of recipes. Can we get some random rune boxes, rune punches, and more potions thrown in so the other classes are miserable with us? They even have more to fall back on than we do. Good buffs are all we ever had.

Actually making the high level buff food is kinda easier to make than the recipes you had when you start a new character. I always have enough material to make some dishes, but the things I lack is called Firmament Essence and Earthly Trace. :> If the cooking materials wouldn't consume so much of them, the job would be one of the easiest.

Well, but it's true. With the cooking profession you will be one of the poorest players ingame because there is just nothing you can really put in AH. The good food is only coming from blue recipes and you need a high amount of luck to actually get them. And I'm not the richest person to buy them from AH since most of them are overprized in my eyes. Finding a green recipe OR MASSIVE FOOD while killing monsters is making me cry instead of feeling happy, since everyone is getting them multiple times. The only thing you can actually do with them is throwing them away or get benefit for yourself. :<

I wouldn't say they should stop giving them out as gifts, but it would be nice having some special 'thing' like the other professions. I mean, Artisans can make runes, Blacksmiths have their Punchers and Drills, Alchemists can convert Oridecon/Elunium stuff... and what do the Chefs have? Yeah... :< We got nothing at all that could bring at least some zeny in our cash box though I don't think that they'll ever be an update to that Profession. Sadly.
