I'm debating going 29/50/2 (focus on agi) instead of the standard balanced build (or str focus). This played really well for me in RO1, but this is a different game so I wanted to get a little more info before jumping into it. Has anyone else tried this build?

Also, has anyone done any research as to when Slotting for AGI/STR is better at what breakpoints?  For Example, to start slotting AGI after a certain attack power or start slotting STR after a certain crit%?

29/50/2 is a reasonable build. I'm using 40/40/8 because it makes the most of our points and doesn't get as deep into the diminishing returns. If I got a free reset now I'd strongly consider higher agility. As far as runes go I'm planning to use agi runes because both give some damage but dodge is the superior defense. There is a breakpoint for determining which is better and this thread here gets into detail about it. Early on str will be worth more but I haven't run the numbers based on the better equipment sets. I do know that the str and attack on gear go up a lot faster than the agi so I think with the best sets, agi runes may be better at everything. Either way the damage difference per point will be very small.

It's better to go STR. Poison does more damage with higher STR and your critical hits deal more damage due to the STR base. It's really just math, but I am too lazy to calculate it all out.

1 AGI = 4 Critical Points = 0.09% on lvl 50 enemies

 

You need 334 AGI for a 30% base crit

Or 556 AGI for 50% base crit

 

Adding buffs will reduce that number, but it'll be always close

Tried that build before in SEARO2

51 agi 21 str 3 vit 

 

Slotted all with +7-9 runes of agi.....honestly you crit like no tomorrow which is good BUT your damage is like only 600-500 critical which is very bad 

Meanwhile IF

 

You max str and pump yourself with master agi pot or those agi items your critical damage will be 1k-3k base on your eq

 

You can pump Master STR potion to up your damage as an agi build but then.....you will notice the damage is not enough to kill fast.....in pvp.....
