The Ranger's skill, Falcon Assault. How practical is the skill?

I assumed it's similar to the Summon Aqua skill of Sorcerer, but I tried that Aqua skill and it was horrible and glitchy (like sometimes it attacks, sometimes it just stands there).

Is Falcon similar to Aqua? Most people seem to agree spending 5 skill points to get that lv1 Falcon is worth it, while Aqua Summon is a very useless skill even though it does higher damage than Falcon...

Aqua isnt useless and neither is Falcon.
But yes, it can be quite derpy, especially if you summon it ontop of something and the boss runs away before the AI to atack responds, it just hangs there and glides around. 

However it can do great single target dps, especially considering you can summon 2 of them with True Sight.
