Ok this is what i think should be the best brewing gears (without gods), capped at +9

(This thread is for not so-rich person (like me), so don't ask why i don't include +10~20 and god gears)

I'll divide it to two sections:

1) Negative gears
They're gears that u must wear so u get negative stats before u get marionette control (MC). U must wear these gears only n nothing else.

Headgear upper: Any headgear that doesn't add int/dex/luk [Incubus card] - int-3
Headgear mid: Any headgear that doesn't add int/dex/luk [Incubus card] - int-3
Shield: Guard [Despero of thanatos card] - int-6
Garment: Undershirt [Green maiden card] - luk-5

2) Positive gears
They're gears that u must wear so u get positive stats after u get marionette control (MC) n while u brewing.

Headgear upper: +9 King poring hat or +7 'Merica Hat [Siorava card-not implemented yet] - dex+5, luk+10 or luk+15
Headgear mid: Black devil mask - int+2, dex+2, luk+2
Headgear lower: Four leaf clover - luk+3
Armor: Valkyrian armor luk+3 [Baby leopard card] - int+1, dex+1, luk+7
Weapon: Excalibur dex+3, dex+3 - int+5, dex+5, luk+10
Shield: Guard [Zealotus card] - luk+2
Garment: +9 Fallen Angel Wing luk+5,luk+5,luk+5 - luk+17
Shoes: Crystal pumps - luk+5
Accessory: Cat hand glove [Zerom card] - dex+4, luk+1
Accessory: Cat hand glove [Zerom card] - dex+4, luk+1
Costume: Costume tarnished lamp - luk+10

That looks about right to me. 

 

That's better gear (mostly) than I use to pot with. Nobody lets me use gods >.>

All this time I haven't been using my incus prior to MC (though my MC'er isn't leveled up enough for that to matter; she doesn't get me to 99 int after desp shield black thing and harmonize)

Unrelated to gears, but can't you pot in a PvP area where your dex is decreased from the effects of quagmire o.o?

You'd need a storage npc next to you though. You could do it with kafra cards, except every 5 mins you'd burn another because you need to close storage to use the +20 foods.

MC was nerfed about 5 years ago--it can no longer be cast on someone who's quagged or cursed. Before then, you would have wanted a monster to quag you for -50% dex since quag from players had already been nerfed to -25 agi/dex at level 5.

+12 Thick Headed Stone Buckler is 6 INT, which is as good as 3 LUK... so why not use that instead?

Glorious Popularized Rings are the same success rate to brewing, but are more useful to the geneticist skill Special Pharmacy, so I prefer them!

 

Just a thought... if we get card slot on the FAW, you can throw green maiden in there too...

Yeah it was because of cost consideration...i think u dont want to waste few hundreds (or worst, billion) for just a very small stats increase

Capping stuff at +9 seems arbitrary and keeps people who can afford +12 gears in the dark on what is optimal. Don't set arbitrary limits like that.
