What happened to giving no guilds custom capes? Why wasn't that a valid option?

 

Or at least get the list of guilds right. The list you have now isn't the top 20 guilds at the time the event finished, its from when the announcement went out. A lot of guilds rushed to 20 for woe, a month after this event finished, but that doesn't reflect the guilds that worked hard for this event.

really... a couple thoughts come to mind at this point...

 

first off, if you can't give the correct unique cape to all the guilds involved why not just give them to none of the guilds involved rather than playing favorites?

 

Secondly if only 15 guilds are going to get them how precisely were those 15 chosen? The first 15 to make it? The 15 who had the highest guild level at the time the contest ended? As it stands the community thinks that CM's just picked the 15 guilds they liked the most or had the most friends in and gave them capes. Some disclosure would go a long way. Generally a dialogue between the CM's and the community would be the best way to resolve this. Instead of a weekend hide and seek event why not take an hour or two to have an open forum to let people ask the questions they want to ask and make the suggestions they want to make? That way we can feel that even if we didn't get our capes we at least got some answers. So far we have only gotten one response albeit multiple times. "Too bad so sad" is not an adequate response no matter how many times you say it. 

 

Finally if we can't get any answers and we can't get a resolution that the community would feel good about please allow us to at least collectively come up with the one design we'll all share on the losers cape. Even if it is not possible to make 97 capes, I think 16 is a reasonable solution. One extra cape to be made for all 82 guilds that didn't make the top 15 list? Let the community suggest some emblems that they can live with and let them vote on which emblem they would like. At least then we would all get some say in what we get and it would be somewhat unique even if all 8200 capes would look the same. 

 

I know that there are many people in the community who are still upset over this, and I would suggest that a measured and reasonable solution would be better in the long run rather than just locking and deleting threads and telling people to be quietly happy with whatever scraps are thrown their way.

I... Actually like that idea. If we can't design our own capes, can we at least have a contest/poll of community-made capes for the 16th cape that the other 82 (yes, there were 97 total, not 87, and not 100) guilds? I think that idea proposed by 2072130509093835580 was a GENIUS idea!

 

 

Obviously, the prize would be the cape itself, and nothing else, but I'm sure people would be fine with that.

 

It would at least be the Developers and players meeting half-way. If they refuse to make the other 82, and refuse to allow us to make them, then they should at least allow us to pick the design and emblem for the 16th cape for everyone who didn't qualify for the top 15.

All I can say is, it's truly WarpPortal's fault for dropping the ball on this. They're the ones who extended the deadline to allow more guilds to qualify and they're the ones who kept giving the community false hope that ALL qualified guilds were getting their own capes. This is what happens when you make such an event without consulting the developers. Don't know what WarpPortal was thinking when they didn't make a limit for how many guilds could qualify.

The brave souls of iRO2 who have the burnden of wearing the scarlet letters which embody the lies and manipulations of Warpportal on their backs while the rest of the sever may wear the generic broken promises on ours. Are you sure that second point is a sadly? At least for those who left, they still have the dim hope that maybe one day it was resolved.. instead of the crushing reality of the end.

 

I imagine this topic will be locked today as well. Maybe if the consolation capes were fusible, it might not be as much of a kick in the ass.. buy some fusion mats off the AH and try for wings. But no way will that happen..
