Hoi Chummers! Getting a new patch note thread going for the new month here, also want to talk about some of the projects we are working on here and in the Classic Foundry. 

 

So last month huh? 

 

Mix of some highs (unbinding high tier equipment, Veins/Nameless on Classic) and some lows (boosted re-bound gears), but our takeaway was that it is absolutely necessary to be working more closely with the Classic community when we develop new content. To this end, we established the Classic Foundry last month as a place for us to share the project we are working on to develop and have direct comment and suggestion from the classic community. With Veins and Nameless island we are rapidly approaching the last of the original content for pre-renewal. As our community has said, as we approach the cap of where the game used to be, balance of content and items becomes a crucial issue. 

 

We have a considerable amount more freedom in being able to add new systems and updates for Classic, but we are having the Classic community act as a sounding board to develop smart content that will keep classic from becoming stale but not at the cost of the Classic feeling of the server that we want to preserve. 

 

As mentioned in our last maintenance thread, we are still working on setting up USRC on Classic. Since it requires copying every equipment, card and consumable there is a lot of database updating that has been done in the past few weeks. This is so we can have people create characters much as they can on Sakray right now, being able to level them to the tournament max and get all of the proper USRC gear but not be able take any of it out of that arena. Once that major task is complete, we have other projects we are working on to make playing on classic more enjoyable, convenient and challenging. 

 

September 11th maintenance: 

-We are having another early morning extended maintenance, to perform software upgrades on the hardware that was set up the last time. The games down and Warpportal/forums connectivity may lose connection during the Midnight-6am PDT (GMT -7) hours on Wednesday. 

-Small update to Classic training grounds introducing beginner monster kill quests for novices. Please note that this is just a quick addition and not our planned overhaul.

-New OCAs will be available from monster and treasure drops, replacing the old ones. These will include the previously missing "mini-boss" cards. Pushed to next week so we can get proper testing in. 

-Working on a NPC to trade in old OCAs for the new ones at a set ratio. 

-New Groove Pack: 

When opened the opener always receives 1 HE Bubble Gum and one Gary's September Random Pack which contains one of the following:

Mega Resist Potion x 30
Fencer Scroll 10 x 10
Party Increase Agi 10 Scroll x 30
Party Blessing 10 Scroll x 30
Party Assumptio 5 Scroll x 30
HE Bubble Gum x 3
HE Battle Manual x 3
Rideword Hat
Fish In Mouth

-New art for Classic patcher.

-Biolabs Area spawns and Lighthalzen spotlight arrive

September 4th maintenance: 

-Double exp/Drops leaves

-VIP bonuses continue for one more week

-Groove pack next week

-Continuing work on updating OCA

-Working to get USRC prizes distributed this week. 

 

August 28th maintenance: 

-Investigations and suspensions for zeny dupe ongoing. Players who took part in the "Renewal<-->Classic" zeny exchange and were suspended need to write in with the characters that made the trade and received the zeny on both servers to be processed. 

-WoE 1 castles will be set to their intended owners and with the increased investment values we had discussed before. 

-Sunglasses[1] and Takius Blindfold [1] become tradable but not currently vendable

-Double exp and drops for one week

-King poring reward NPC is leaving. 

 

August 21st maintenance:

-This will likely run 1/2-1 hour longer for testing of the slotted mid quest and USRC

-No WOE Saturday due to many of the guilds that usually participate competing in USRC. 

-Slotted mid quest, can run through once per character for a chance at a slotted middle headgear

-Hode turn in fixed

-VIP exp/drops/death penalty boost for 2 weeks

-Expanding the "100 point+ Red Dress Hat" promotion. You can receive one per server so if you spend points on Renewal and Classic you'd be getting a headgear for both. 

 

-Hode repeatable exp quest fixed

-Prontera warp pass location being changed to be closer to Primo D'buffer [for real!]

-Hypnotist being added back to central prontera, offering skill resets for characters level 40 or under. 

 

-August Lucky box in for one week:

August 14th maintenance:

-USRC arena fixes

-Prontera Renovation continues: Prontera Warp Pass now deposits players near to Primo D'Buffer in South Central Prontera.

-Last week of King Poring's Quest

-Preparing Classic August Lucky box for next week

-100 point item giveaway promotion: Spend 100kp during august and receive a Classic Bright Red Dress hat (different effect on Classic). We'll be distributing these weekly through code the redeemer to participating accounts on Renewal. You can pick them up on a Renewal character then send in a ticket with what character has it and what Classic character you want to have it moved to. One hat per account.

-1st draft of plan for Slotted Mid Quest completed, working on scripting

-Project after that is 20 point stat reset

 

 

 

August 7th maintenance: 

-Primo D' Buffer being added to Prontera. 

  • For non VIPs' level 5 agi up 
  • For VIPs  agi up and +3 all stats bonus, no cooldown. 
-Magic stone requirement removed for changing to a second job

-July Groove Pack leaves

-New Loading Screens

-King Poring hat effect fixed to no longer eat your DEX

Isn't the drop of population enough to tell you that this is what has to happen asap? Players have been suggesting the same thing for the past year. GMs just apparently take forever to listen, at the cost of the server.

Also consider moving some resources away from USRC (unless you plan on making a monthly competition, to encourage people to get involved), you've got what like nine teams entered and who knows how many have quit/been banned since then. Some of your other features could be a really good tool to encourage people to play.

 

Unbinding slotted mids and/or getting that quest in would be enormous.

 

Can we also get a list of things in the Louyang spotlight?

Pretty much took our thoughts and put it into words for us...

 

Unbind slotted mids. There is no point to have them limited to people who drop tons of $$ on this game while the little guy gets left out. It doesn't take a genius to figure out why the little guy never had the motivation to stay.

Primo D' Buffer works just the same to what she does in renewal? I mean adding an all+7 buff to vips for 32.5 min each time you talk to her?

We're going to start off modestly. 

 

For non VIPs' level 5 agi up 

For VIPs +3 all stats bonus, no cooldown.

Why not make the buffer even more attractive to non-VIPers? Level 5 Increase Agi seems so mediocre. This is another way that you can attract new players to the server.

I think a half hour insurance buff would be good for VIPs too.

Level 5 Increase Agi buff is to provide a movement speed buff to get around Prontera or get to your destination.

Just the second jobs? What about the expanded classes? Job changing to TK Kid requiring a magical stone is absurd.

Your server is dying but seems you dont care. All you care is USRC. Who will join your USRC if server dies o.O  People started to talk about private servers on forums instead of you server. But all you care about USRC.

 

Btw unbind slotted mids and add a quest to make slotted mids.

Can't imagine that unbinding slotted mids will bring players back. There was never a problem with charbound slotted mids on fRO. You just have to make it easier to obtain the coupons.

 

PPl quit because there is nobody in pvp and everywhere are just bots. Nobody will return just because he can trade his sunglasses now... lol

 

Also, keep Slot mids charbound
