Weapon Blocking/Counter Slash Questions

I have quite a number of questions regarding those 2 skills and would like some clarification before I attempt to make a GX based off those 2 skills(and perhaps crits)

 

1.) During Weapon Blocking status, when I get hit, there's a chance I enter the Weapon Blocking state where I can't attack/move. During this state I press Counter Slash to activate it. But it doesn't take place immediately after I press counter slash; there's this short delay before Counter Slash activates. Does that gap get reduced by aspd or is it fixed?

 

2.) According to the wiki page for Counter Slash (see for info: http://irowiki.org/wiki/Counter_Slash), it ignores DEF and can inflict crit damage. Does this mean ice pick does not effect the damage from it?

 

3.) Referring back to the wiki page for Counter Slash, what is meant by able to inflict crit damage? From what I've tried in sakray, I'm unable to inflict crits using counter slash and it's purely HIT-dependent. If it's something else, would crit damage boosting effects affect the damage?

 

4.) Lets say I decide to use a shield instead of dual weapons/katar. If I equip a Clock card and activate lv3 Guard, is it possible to enter the Weapon Blocking state when Guard activates since the Weapon Blocking state can be entered as long as an enemy attempts to hit you but doesn't necessarily have to land the hit?

 

Those are all the questions I have for now. If anyone is able to answer my questions, thank you for your help @_@

↑ Kindly forgive the bump, but I had similar questions regarding this, as well.
I figured I would rather bring this topic up again, since this nice forumite is much better at phrasing questions than I am!

3 and 4 are really interesting.

 

Also, I think I have read somewhere that Counter Slash does not do crit damage in iRO. Is this true?

If so, then that sure is a bummer!

Oh wow this thread I made from long ago. I think I can answer some of them myself now so here goes:

1. The delay is after cast delay. It is reduced by strings and kiel cards.

2. The skill pierces def, and ice pick does not contribute damage. Also, the skill does not crit.

3. As said in 2, there's no crit involved so crit boosters don't help.

I still don't know about 4. though lol.

Also, the damage in the video should be possible now thanks to the Oni Horns headgear. The damage he did in the lower levels is close to what I do at the same level with Oni Horns, and people report damage of 40+k ish without the horns with the same setup, so oni horns should push damage up to the same level~

But you may need to change the setup used with newer gears, like temporal boots and FAW un order to achieve that damage. The same setup may still be lacking in power.

okay, i just made a CS GX and i should say that CS doesnt ignore def yet ice pick works.

i was doing eden 100-110 quest to ice dungeon. my mainhand used +9 triple mali RTE wind element converted. and i used +7 oni horns.
CS damage against ice titans using +10 quad mali main gauche offhand = 15k-16k damage. while using +0 ice pick unenchanted offhand = 21-22k damage. quite a damage boost.

You get half of the target's DEF as eATK if you use Ice pick.

That would boost CS damage.

That's pretty good news : o

For now I'd still stick with main gauche on offhand for leeching though. Maybe in the upper levels at scarabas ice pick may get a use?

3. I havent encounter critical damage in counter slash. 

4. I can used counter slash using 1 dagger.

About number 4, I'm not exactly sure with guards, but weapon block doesn't proc when you're under KE.

Sorry for necroing but ATM due to updated Oni Horns this might be good..
I dont have a CS GX yet, so Im noob....

1) Will EDP work w/ CS?
2) After doing CS, do you need to re-weapon block?

2. weapon block is like guard and has a 3min duration(as per wiki) so you only need to recast every 3mins. CS won't stop weapon blocking duration.

 

but if you are asking if you need to wait for weapon blocking to activate again by mobs hitting you, then yes, its a combo skill so weapon blocking needs to have activated when hit to enable CS. so mobbing is a must if you have high flee.
