This has been happening for a while at times, what is this phenomenon?

There is a predetermined amount of items a monster can hold.  If they are at this limit, any new items they eat vanish.

Dayum! I often wish they could make use of the item "stacks" or something in these cases.

 

For example: Foe loots 1 Jellopy, then 1 more Jellopy.

 

If foe is defeated:

• Current: Drops 2 Jellopies, 1 in each stack.
• Mah Dream: Drops 2 jellopies in 1 stack.

 

But alas...

I've known about this for years but never was sure if it was the newest items that vanish... It'd be nice if it was the other way around, ah well.

Yeah, like if the limit is reached the older items should disappear for the amount of items that have been picked newly. Basically like eating and defecating. Lol
