i'm new and not yet familiar with bows... my question is, where is the elemental damage based on when using bows? is it dependent on the bow or the arrow?

For example:

rudra bow + fire arrow - is it holy or fire element damage?

rudra bow + steel arrow - holy or neutral damage?

elven bow + rusty arrow - neutral or poison damage?

The arrow's element will be applied if it's a ranged attack, while the bow's element will be applied for melee attacks. All of the ranger's skills (as well as the normal attack) are ranged, so you don't have to worry about the bow's element. If you're playing a thief/rogue/etc, all melee-range attacks won't use the arrow's element, except Sightless Mind (It takes the arrow's element)

rudra bow + fire arrow = fire

rudra bow + steel arrow = holy

elven bow + rusty arrow = poison

rudra bow + fire arrow + endow quake = earth

So, using elemental arrow is useless with other class if you're doing a normal attack?

I recall arrow element working with bowling bash on a shadow chaser pre-renewal, but that could have changed.

Uh, a bow's normal attack is always ranged, so yes, the arrow's element and attack power are considered.

I was referring to melee range skills (Bowling Bash, Bash, etc.), that don't consider neither the arrow's element nor their attack power.

I recall arrow element working with bowling bash on a shadow chaser pre-renewal, but that could have changed.

I did not play a rogue/stalker pre-renewal to confirm this, but I can confirm that it doesn't work that way in renewal.

The trick with arrows is that equipping them doesn't change your element, but if you're equipped with a bow weapon, they do. Chaser was always able to equip an arrow, so was assassin cross, too, but qith a dagger or sword it'd never effect your element, even with a ranged attack like grimtooth. However, with a bow equipped, with DEX becoming your primary damage stat, even with a melee attack like bowling bash, it affected your element. However, the combos like burning bow+fire arrow didn't work.

I see... I guess that's what I was remembering wrong (The elemental bow+arrow combo not working on melee damage)

Thank you for clarifying.
