Actually, it's not. We did get one non-extended class (Sage) already, so it's likely that at least one of the next group will also be extended class.

 

The second part wasn't really logic. I was joking. Even though it is kinda true, it's not a solution for those that hate them, because the ones that hate extended classes would rather have their way and get the non-extended class costumes first. So, despite all lack of seriousness, you called my logic horrid because you're one of those people who wants the non-extended classes before extended, which is a bit biased.

 

Personally, my favorite three classes in RO are Champion, Assassin Cross, and Gunslinger, so those are the three I'd like to see next. Will it happen? Probably not.

 

Also, why does Bard look so weird?   I know that none of them look completely like their RO1 counterparts, but that one just seems the most off for some reason. Then again, we can only see what's in the icons, so the others could be even worse...

Even though now I love to main full support AB and Priest, gunslinger was my very first class to play because I LOVE how the female gunslinger looks! After their weapons, gunslingers are well known for their jackets!!

 

Let's hope its only an error on the thumbnail and that the model has the jacket...

I know right? I was truly hoping for the original Assassin, and that the Trans classes would come out later. Now there's no order whatsoever and we have no idea what to expect next. Could be soul linker costumes for all we know.

It's just that extended classes were always meant to be homage classes that matched their respective homage towns. It's not that I dislike them, it just seems like it's more of the same Ragnarok Odyssey here have some random costumes that have no rhyme or reason to what has shown to be most popular in Gravity's own polls. Now, that could just be XSEED's fault. But in my opinion(bias!), it would be a strange move to spend development funding first on extended class costumes in RO2 over classes that actually belong to the world of Ragnarok and have shown to be the most desired. If they're testing the demand, it's even more questionable to give us extendeds first. And I'll try to leave GS out of this(despite my love), because that's a controversial subject when it comes to how well the concept fits into the lore of the RO universe.

 

Man, I hope that GS looks better in game, that open-chested look may not go so well in RO2. And champion costume... would go monk in a heartbeat!

 

Another strange one. Bard costume, when there's no equivalent whatsoever in RO2. I guess I just want to roll a party in a dungeon with all the classes in their RO1 class outfits. Knights get Crusader style, Warriors get Knight style, Assassins get "" style, Rogues get "" style, Wizards get "" style, Sorcerers get Sage style, Rangers get Hunter style, and so on and so forth.

Well, I do think they did well on the Gunslinger one, from what I can see, although in the RO1 sprite, despite not wearing a shirt, the abdomen was more covered with the duster coat, while the chest was somewhat exposed. Not sure why they're making the entire front of the torso exposed like that. They'll probably do the same for Monks (which are actually supposed to be like that), and Champions (which are, like Gunslingers, supposed to have just an exposed chest).

What I was saying about Bards isn't really due to the fact that they don't exist here (especially since, with the demand, they may end up existing in the future), but rather due to the fact that the costume appears to be (out of the others) the furthest from the RO1 sprite. It just seems completely off in design.

 

Also, regarding the RO2 isn't RO1 arguments people make; I seriously hate when they do it, especially to justify their opinions. Not really sure why they make the argument, since it just enforces the belief some people have that this game is only a sequel in name, and nothing more.   But, regardless, not sure why someone would make that argument against what you've said, since regardless of what RO2 is, people want to see the RO1 costumes.

Exposed chest in RO2 makes me wonder how good it will look. In the Chaos Dungeon gear, some of the classes get a six pack overlaid where there is normally just flatness. I just, eh. Chest in 3D games is usually iffy for males.

 

I can't really tell much about the bard. How does it look different?

 

I'm not sure why either. But it almost never fails when I bring up RO1 in reference to RO2 that I receive a mean-spirited retort. x_x

Hm... I guess you're right. I was referring to the sprite, though. I've actually never seen the art for Bards until just now.


The sprite seems entirely different from the art, at least the top clothing of the character. Then again, spriting that much detail on such a small model would be a pain in the ass. It appears as though, on the sprite, they removed the bit of cloth draping over the shoulders, and just left the jacket underneath.

The costumes are based on the original concept art for each job class, not their RO sprites.

With that in mind, the developers did a rather fantastic job reflecting the concept art for each RO job class. If you don't like the costumes, then your issue is more towards the job classes' designs rather than the quality of the costumes themselves. For that, you should be complaining to the original designer of the RO job classes (which I think was Lee Myung-Jin).

As an artist, I would have the concept art as my main reference, but I would review the RO1 sprites. Why? Because the sprites needed to minimize the details and go as simple as possible, yet conserving the key features that make the class/job recognizable. Still, I agree with you that the costumes are fantastic! I really like them!

 

Hmm... well, on the concept art, the gunslinger girl still has her jacket <.< she is just showing off her right arm, but the left one has the jacket sleeve. I still hope that the thumbnail is wrong and the model will have the jacket on >.<
